Visitor Reviews of Penstowe Park Holiday Lodges

Sam
Date of stay: 21st March 2025
Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite a few minor glitches. The outside light was out and the location of the light switch was a bit awkward-had to feel around in the dark at night. Also, there wasn't a clear spot for towels or coats, but we’d still return to this lodge. Definitely worth a visit!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 17th March 2025
Honestly, the bed was pretty worn out, soft and quite lumpy. Duvet too small.
Emma
Date of stay: 5th October 2024
Perfect little getaway spot, everything we needed and more. Highly recommend!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 28th September 2024
We had such a lovely few days at this place! The villa was really charming and the enclosed garden was a game-changer - perfect for relaxing outside without worrying about the dogs. Truly peaceful and cosy. If you’re after some calm, you’ll love it here!
Emma Johnson
Date of stay: 27th September 2024
Really enjoyed our stay! The place was perfect for a quick getaway. Loved exploring nearby pubs, shops and the beaches just a short drive away.
Jessica Carter
Date of stay: 27th September 2024
The lodge was super cosy and had everything we needed and the park was stunning too!
David
Date of stay: 25th September 2024
The cabin felt just like being at home, super cosy and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there, really appreciated it!
Emma
Date of stay: 23rd September 2024
Comfortable but could be better
Emily
Date of stay: 22nd September 2024
This was a lovely getaway! The Manor Lodge had a beautiful private garden, a hot tub and plenty of space.
Emma
Date of stay: 16th September 2024
We really enjoyed our stay! The lodge is spacious and beautifully decorated, with everything you need in the kitchen. The hot tub was a highlight-so clean, warm and it kept its temperature perfectly. The only letdown was the double beds; they felt a bit small and the mattresses weren’t the most comfy. The sofas are a bit worn out too, making relaxing a bit tricky. Still, we’d come back!
Alex
Date of stay: 15th September 2024
Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely return.
Alex
Date of stay: 8th September 2024
Honestly, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about with the negative reviews. When we arrived, a lovely lady greeted us and explained everything, especially about how to top up the electricity, which was all in the terms anyway. The chalet was spotless, which was a relief because I’d been a bit worried about cleanliness. It had pretty much everything we needed. The only tiny issue was a few spiders lurking in the corners, but that’s pretty normal in a countryside spot. If you’re after a peaceful, chilled out break, this place is just what you need!
Rebecca Mills
Date of stay: 8th September 2024
Could be better unfortunately
James
Date of stay: 6th September 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy little cabin. It had everything we needed and was just the right size for us two - though it could easily fit four. The location was super handy, close to the car park and the Wi-Fi was solid. Perfect for what we wanted!
Emma
Date of stay: 21st August 2024
Honestly, we were pretty let down by the whole stay. Nothing on site really helped and it just wasn’t as enjoyable or comfy as we’d hoped. Such a shame.
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 19th August 2024
We really enjoyed our stay here. The chalet felt just like a cosy home, which was perfect for us. It’s very peaceful since there’s nothing on site to disturb you. The enclosed garden was a big plus, especially for the dog to relax. If you’ve got kids, you might want somewhere busier, but we loved it!
Clara
Date of stay: 14th August 2024
We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was lovely, spacious and well-equipped. The view was stunning too!
Rachel Thompson
Date of stay: 11th August 2024
We visited Penstowe during a family holiday, staying in Coombe Lodge. Sadly, due to my disabilities, getting around was a bit tricky for us. That said, the lodges looked stunning and the amenities were top-notch. Overall, a lovely place, just a shame about the access issues.
Emma
Date of stay: 9th August 2024
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with the WiFi situation - it’s 2024 and everywhere has it, right? The TV was tiny with bad reception, which was a bit of a pain. Luckily, our cottage had electric included, since some places charge extra. The place itself was spotless, with a lovely, well-equipped kitchen. Some cottages had picnic benches outside, which ours didn’t, but overall, it was a clean and cosy stay. Could’ve been better regarding the amenities, though.
Emma
Date of stay: 5th August 2024
The place is perfect for exploring, super handy location. The rooms were clean, but the bed wasn't the most comfy. Nice little village with shops, pub and takeaway. No garden or activities though.
Claire
Date of stay: 2nd August 2024
Not impressed, needs updating soon I think.
Jordan
Date of stay: 1st August 2024
Despite my traffic delay, the staff went out of their way to help me get the keys late at night. The place itself is fantastic - really top-notch. Honestly, I wish I could rate it even higher. Definitely recommend to everyone!
Laura
Date of stay: 31st July 2024
The place was just right for our family of four, especially for a short stay. Loved the WiFi and the BBQ outside - perfect for relaxing. Having board games and scissors in the kitchen was handy. Only thing missing was nearby spots for off-lead dog walks, which was a bit of a shame.
Emma Davis
Date of stay: 29th July 2024
The open plan layout was lovely, but the bed was super firm and made sleeping quite a challenge sometimes.
Alex
Date of stay: 17th July 2024
We stayed at Penhalt Cottage, which was a lovely upgrade to number 8. The place is really well-maintained, super clean and has windows on all sides-front, back and sides! The lounge has comfy leather sofas, plus a TV and music system. The bedroom also has the same and the curtains give good privacy. It’s fully double glazed, so super quiet too. We’d definitely come back!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 10th July 2024
The windows were filthy, with bird droppings on the bench and table that looked like they'd been there ages. Opening the patio doors revealed just how dirty everything really was. Honestly, it was quite disappointing.
Sam
Date of stay: 30th June 2024
Really enjoyed the stay, would recommend!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 14th June 2024
Not impressed at all, wouldn’t bother returning.
Tony

When I booked by telephone i said I was disabled and asked for walk in shower some of the photos had a rail by the steps i asked if this was on our chalet but they did not know when we got there therre was no rail and made it very dificult for me my friend had to help me otherwise the chalet was lovely inside sorry the big house was closed
Lynne
We stayed in Penhalt Cottage which was very, very clean and well appointed easy walking distance to the village of Kilkhampton, would definitely recommend to family and friends. Lovely holiday site. Cannot comment on the on-site restaurant as we never had occasion to use it.
