The lodge had a cople of small issues . Position of light switch not at door enterance so when entering at night had to walk acroos room in dark. Out side light not working and to near door know where to put towels or coats. But would still use this lodge again

Bed was old soft and lumpy. Duvet was too small to cover 2 people.

The cabin had everything we needed for a short break

Absolutely loved our few days away. The Spanish villa was so nice and the enclosed garden meant we could sit outside in the glorious weather and not have to put our pooches on their leads. Peaceful and comfortable. If you peace, tranquility you’ll like it too!

Great accommodation - ideal for my short break. Local pubs and shops a short walk away . Also a short drive to several beaches.

Loved it — the park was very pretty and lodge comfortable with everything we needed.

I really don’t know about the negative reviews? Once we arrived, we were greeted by a kind woman who explained everything especially how to pay for electricity (this was mentioned in the terms and conditions so it didn’t bother us). When we entered, it was clear that the chalet was recently cleaned which was something i was worried about. The chalet had everything that you needed, the only problem was that there seemed to be a lot of spiders appearing in the corners of the rooms. If you are in need of a quiet and relaxed holiday, this is perfect!

Excellent all round little cabin with everything we needed. It was ideal for the 2 of us but could have suited 4. Very close to the car park for loading. We also had good Wi-Fi and phone signals. A perfect place for us

We got Spanish villa, Upon entering the villa, there was a bad smell and extreme humidity in the villa that could not stay at all. We had to pay for electricity. It was a very peaceful and beautiful place. But we were not at all satisfied with the place we got and I do not recommend this place at all.

Definitely would not recommend the holiday park to anyone unfortunately as overall it wasn't an enjoyable or comfortable stay, having nothing onside was a real disappointment

We had a lovely stay, the chalet was a home from home. There is nothing on site, but we like the peace. Families with young children may prefer a site with stuff to do. Nearest shop was 5 minutes drive.We loved that we have an enclosed garden. Perfect for the dog to chill in.

One of the best lodges we have stayed. Beautifull, equipped, spacefull. Beautifully located with gorgeous view. Highly recommended.

I came in the second week of a family holiday to Penstowe. My son and his family were in another coombe lodge. Unfortunately because of my disabilities, access to both lodges were difficult for me. The lodges were beautifully presented and the facilities in both were excellent.

No WiFi it's 2024 ? Everywhere has WiFi these days . The TV was quite small basic channels and it was bad receception. Luckily we had electric in our cottage because some had to pay separate when they got there so please check if you get electric. The cottage it self was very clean had everything you needed kitchen was nice and big well equipped. Some had picnic benches outside and sitting areas ours didn't.

Mattresses and sofas could do with replacing

Ideal size for family of 4 for few days, board games, scissors ? in Kitchen draw too! WiFi BBQ area outside ideal break away dog friendly, few DVDs..Only downside no areas on sote or with 20min walking distance for off lead walk with dog

The windows were dirty bird excrement on bench and table been there ages opened patio doors the dirt was unbelievable

Not good , would not go again

Had a lovely stay. We recieved a warm welcome, please note if you have to pay for the electric to buy a little more than advised as we went through ours a little quicker due to using heating at nighttime. It is also a brill location! I would recommend a refurb for the bathroom & kitchen is needed soon.

Lodge was comfy and well equipped - just need drains sorting and weeds cleared on patio

When I booked by telephone i said I was disabled and asked for walk in shower some of the photos had a rail by the steps i asked if this was on our chalet but they did not know when we got there therre was no rail and made it very dificult for me my friend had to help me otherwise the chalet was lovely inside sorry the big house was closed

We stayed in Penhalt Cottage which was very, very clean and well appointed easy walking distance to the village of Kilkhampton, would definitely recommend to family and friends. Lovely holiday site. Cannot comment on the on-site restaurant as we never had occasion to use it.
