Visitor Reviews of Skegness Fields

Really lovely overall, we enjoyed it!

Date of stay: 3rd November 2024
We recently stayed in one of the pet-friendly platinum lodges with a hottub and overall, I’d say it’s a solid 4 out of 5. The lodge was spacious and modern, which we liked and the location was peaceful and well-kept. The site itself felt really quiet and tidy-exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. However, there were a few little issues. The cleanliness wasn’t perfect; the fridge hadn’t been wiped down and the mattress protector was a bit grubby. The hottub was a bit of a letdown the first day because it wasn’t hot enough to use, though I understand it takes time to warm up. Still, considering check-in was from 2 pm, we expected to enjoy it that evening. On the plus side, any problems we had-like the front door or oven-were sorted promptly, which was great. The walkable pub and shop are a bonus and Skegness is just a short drive away. If they added a TV in the bedroom and pre-warmed the hottub, it’d be perfect. We’d definitely come back!

The lodge was absolutely gorgeous, super clean and had that cosy, home-from-home vibe. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We recently stayed at Platinum Lodge for a weekend and overall, it was a pretty good experience. The caravan itself was lovely and comfortable. However, we did encounter a really unpleasant smell in the main toilet, which persisted even after cleaning - not ideal. We also had a bit of trouble with the boiler; tried calling the out-of-hours number but got no reply. Luckily, restarting it got the heating going again. The location is a bit of a hike from the beach, but despite those hiccups, we had a lovely time!

We recently booked two lodges expecting them to be similar, but ended up with one that matched the pictures and another that was completely different. When we asked about it, we were told the images are just for illustration, which seems a bit odd - aren’t the photos supposed to help us decide what we’re getting? It felt like we were given a cheaper lodge than what we paid for, which was pretty disappointing. We also tried reaching out by email about these issues but haven’t received any reply. To top it off, all the outdoor furniture was broken when we arrived, something that should’ve been spotted beforehand. Honestly, we won’t be coming back. Not a great experience at all.

Honestly, our stay in the platinum lodge was fantastic. It’s definitely one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed in the UK - super well equipped and comfortable. From the moment we arrived, there was a nice touch with a bottle of milk in the fridge and a handy washing up pack, including dishwasher tablets, which meant we didn’t have to bother with hand-washing everything during our stay. The hot tub was a real treat, especially since it was so warm and relaxing. The smart TV in the living room, set against that cool media wall, was a great feature - perfect for unwinding after a day out. The lodge’s size was a real bonus, much wider than your typical caravan, making it feel more like a home. We managed to get a good deal, but I did notice that out-of-season prices are climbing quite a bit for next year - hope they don’t put people off with sky-high prices, as it’s worth every penny!

We had a really good stay at this caravan. The place was well equipped and we loved the decking area. The hot tub was a highlight. The electric fire and central heating kept us warm when it got a bit chilly. Definitely recommend!

We might have been partly to blame for booking a pet caravan without a pet, but honestly, it wasn’t very clean and looked pretty tired. The lack of a light above the hot tub was annoying and the caravan was freezing because there were no clear instructions on how to use the heating. It was quite frustrating overall.

The bed was a bit tricky with that rolling middle, but apart from that, everything else was spot on! Would stay again.

We spent a week here recently and honestly, it was quite a nice break. The site was peaceful and perfect for kids, with a small play area, which was handy. It’s only a short drive to Skegness, so hitting the beach was easy. The caravan was comfortable enough, beds were decent, but the carpet hadn’t been hoovered and was covered in hair - not great especially with a crawling baby. Would’ve been better if there were some tables and chairs on the veranda and a toaster would’ve been a real bonus for breakfast. Still, we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t mind coming back!

The site was spotless, really well-maintained and the hot tub was a lovely touch. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, genuinely going above and beyond for us. Already booked for next year!

We loved Skegness Fields! The location is perfect, not right on the busy strip but still close enough. Caravans were immaculate and the whole site was really well maintained. Definitely recommend!

Nice peaceful spot, although no clubhouse or pool here, but the sister site is handy.

The hot tub’s outside was dirty, with scum still visible - not what we expected at all.
Emma
Date of stay: 4th July 2024
We really enjoyed our stay! The caravan was lovely and spotless and the site itself was well-maintained. The only thing that caught us out a bit was the lack of outdoor furniture on the veranda-especially since there was a nice space to sit outside. Also, we missed having a welcome pack; it’s a small thing, but it’s always nice when that’s included, especially when you’re used to it from other places. Still, overall, a good experience!

Date of stay: 30th June 2024
We had a fantastic stay! The caravan was really spacious and super clean, which made all the difference. The hot tub was just what we needed to unwind. Skegness was close enough for a quick trip and Ingoldmells wasn’t far either. Definitely coming back!

The caravan was great, no issues at all. Just wish there was a shop nearby!
Emma
Date of stay: 1st May 2024
We’ve stayed here a couple of times now and this was our first in a lodge. Honestly, they’re pretty spacious and well equipped, which is great. We did hit a snag with the boiler on the first night - no heating or hot water - but it was sorted first thing the next morning, so no big deal really. The site itself is quite peaceful, which we liked and catching the bus into town is super easy from right opposite the site by South View. One thing to mention, though, is that the lodge wasn’t spotless when we arrived - cobwebs on the ceilings and behind doors or radiators, probably left by previous guests. Not a huge issue, but worth noting. All in all, we’d come back again!
Emma Clarke
Date of stay: 24th April 2024
We stayed in a decent-sized caravan, but the beds weren’t great, with some springy slats poking through. It did smell a bit like animals, so if you’re not bringing a pet, maybe opt for a non-pet caravan. The hot tub was a nice size but a tad dirty, though still usable. Kitchen and seating areas were pretty good. No on-site entertainment, but nearby sites have stuff to do. Handy location too!
Chloe
One of the best places I have ever stayed! Literally got what we paid for! The lodge was spectacular
Jane
Excellent throughout, brilliant accommodation with everything you could wish for, easy check in and really helpful staff. Quiet location but easy travel with car to all local sights, great for the dogs with lovely walks.
Holly
Excellent location. A Tesco only a few minutes down the road which was perfect for shopping, there was also a Lidl, Morrisons and Asda for anyone who doesn’t like Tesco. Only a 5 minute drive from the coach and the promenade. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful when we needed a bit more help during our checking in time.
Pearl
Beautiful Lodge. Really nice gesture leaving welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, milk and bottle of prosecco. Enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi . Will definitely be returning.
Catherine
Excellent lodge, very clean, hot tub added bonus would definitely stay here again
Kelly
Stunning surroundings, lovely and peaceful stay. Was nice to stay somewhere that you couldn’t hear people coming back from the pub. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back again
Stephen
Clean tidy location, good peaceful and not too busy overall relaxing time enjoyed by all.
David
Fabulous Lodge in a quiet spot, larger than expected clean and new.Hot tub was superb. Very enjoyable stay.
Malcolm
Good location and nice quiet site but close enough to Skegness. Great for a short break ,bedrooms were small compared to other Hoeseasons lodges we have been to.
Sonya
It was amazing, clean and the location was so close by to everything yet when ur at the field it doesnt feel like you are. The only downside i would say is i feel like customers should be provided with more than just 1 loo roll and also washing up liquid as essentials. But apart from that it was amazing and i would deffo go again. ( we went as 2 adults and 2 kids aged 4 and 1, everyone loved it).
Kelly
Excellent family weekend away. Had the platinum lodge with hot tub and it was amazing. The lodge wasn’t as clean as I would have expected, but it was a great weekend. Park is lovely and quiet, but had a caravan of lads at the back of us that were playing loud inappropriate music late into the night. Other than that it was amazing. Would go back in a heart beat. Kids and wife already want to go back already
John
Lovely lodge in a peaceful area.
Victoria
Quiet peaceful site, 35 minute walk into skegness, we visited ingoldmells and Gibraltar Point, which were both just a short drive away. Close enough to walk to the welcome Inn, which has a great outdoor seating area.
