We had a really lovely stay at this cottage. It’s tucked away on a working farm, so it feels super peaceful and private, yet it’s a quick drive to Thaxted’s great eateries like The Star and The Maypole. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming. The place itself is spacious, well-equipped and the bed was super comfy. The garden’s perfect for dogs and is very private, with some lovely walks nearby. We’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing break!

We just got back from a four-night stay at this charming cottage and honestly, we loved it. The owners were really friendly but not overbearing, which was perfect. Our dog adored the big fenced garden and the place had everything we could think of - even a BBQ one evening! The hot tub was fantastic, definitely a highlight. We've already told friends about it and plan to come back soon. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage! The place is spotless and super well-equipped, making everything so easy. Loved the nearby dog walks, perfect for our furry friends. The host was incredibly friendly and quick to respond. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. We’ll definitely return-great value and highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and was super cosy. The walks right outside were a real bonus. The owners are genuinely lovely people, very welcoming. Would definitely come back!

We had such a lovely stay at this place! The setting is truly stunning and feels super private, which we loved. The owners were really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling. One thing to note is that the cottage is right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didn’t spoil our trip at all. Overall, a fantastic spot!

This place is a real gem! The cottage feels super cosy and private, yet everything you need is nearby. The hot tub is a highlight and the underfloor heating keeps it all warm and comfy. Rob & Sharon are lovely hosts and Bonnie’s adorable! Can’t wait to return for a longer stay.

From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel really welcome in this beautifully restored historic building. Goddard's Mead offers everything you need for a comfy, relaxing stay. The location is spot on - perfect for exploring Essex’s charming villages and discovering their rich history. We loved wandering around Thaxted and nearby towns, soaking up the atmosphere and beautiful architecture. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway with a touch of history!

We spent a week here in July with our two mini daschunds and honestly, it was such a lovely stay. The cottage itself is really charming and the hot tub was definitely a highlight, especially during those scorching days when the cool water was so refreshing. The hosts were warm and friendly, clearly caring about their guests and it was nice to see their dogs taken out to the fields every day. Being near Stansted’s flight path was actually quite fun - watching the planes land added a bit of extra entertainment. We’d definitely recommend it!

From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and adorable Bonnie made us feel so welcome. They've done a fantastic job restoring this old building with real care. Goddard's Mead is perfect if you want a comfy and peaceful place to stay. The spot is ideal-right in the heart of Essex-and we loved exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages. There’s so much history to soak up around here! Definitely recommend for a chill getaway.

The carvan it's self didn't have an iron I mean it was a family Carvan but when I booked it the caravan didn't say anything about the stickers or the bands we had to wear for a week.
I would go again but definitely not that caravan.
It had a dishwasher but we had no idea how to use it
But most of all we enjoyed it thank you.

Camp was good but we should have been given wristbands at the beginning of the holiday so was accused of not being welcome on the camp during bingo. Not great for our holiday!!
