Set within 150 acres of landscaped parkland this exciting holiday resort has nearly 600 metres of frontage onto a safe and sandy beach. The Bay hosts a public house which opens daily and offers a warm welcome and good quality food.

The heart of the Victorian resort of Filey is just 3 miles away with shops restaurants and award winning gardens and museum the friendly atmosphere and traditional seaside charm has made it a holiday favourite for many years. The larger vibrant resort of Scarborough 'Britain's first seaside resort' is only a short drive up the coastline. The Bay affords guests easy access for visiting the countless attractions the area has to offer and is a great base for exploring the breathtaking Yorkshire coastline North Yorkshire Moors and the historic city of York just 40 miles away.

Accommodation at The Bay is a wide selection of cottages and apartments.  All of the accommodation is stylish and well designed with TV/DVD and CD player.  The kitchens are very well equipped and come with microwaves and dishwaher (except the Plymouth).  The double glazing and central heating makes The Bay a good choice all year round.  We like the Regatta Cottage which sleeps 6.  This 3 bedroom cottage is on 2 florrs and has a lovely kitchen/breakfast room as well as an open plan lounger diner with patio doors leading out onto the terrace.  For larger groups then the Chatham 7 Cottage is ideal.  This traditional 2 storey cottage sleeps 6-7 in three bedrooms.  For couples the Solo Apartments are ideal.

Fun Days Out in Yorkshire Moors & Coast

This York attraction is educational as well as fun as you get to learn all about the Viking-Age city of Jorvik. Archaeologists from York Archaeological Trust revealed the houses, workshops and backyards of the Viking-Age city of Jorvik, as it stood 1,000 years ago.  You get to travel around in a unique state of the art time capsule.  For a more realistic experience you might get a blast of smoke from the blacksmith's furnace.  It is recommended that you book ahead during school holidays as this popular attraction gets very busy.

Madhyamaka Meditation Centre  a unique and very special centre in the Yorkshire moors offering amazing meditation experiences for experts and novices. The beautiful setting really ads to the experience and the gorgeous grounds are abundant with wildlife including Squirrels, Deer and Birds including Red Kites. The centre is now offering a special weekend retreat for families which includes family friendly guided meditations as well as fun activities such as face painting, games and a barbeque.

Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary is an excellent choice for a day trip if you are enjoying a family holiday in the Yorkshire region. A stroll around this fascinating centre takes customers on a journey beneath the waves and allows encounters with many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. Everything from the common starfish to the mighty shark can be seen. The otters, seals and penguins are very popular and feeding time is a real highlight. There are also regular talks and demonstrations throughout the day. Outside there is a children's play area and picnic spot but there is also a restaurant onsite. Family tickets are available at just £46.80 but huge savings available by calling into one of the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey.
No matter where you are staying in the Yorkshire region a visit to Castle Howard is a must. The magnificent 18th century house has a stunning setting in breathtaking parkland with gorgeous grounds speckled with temples, lakes, statues and fountains. The formal gardens are the perfect place for a stroll and the woodland garden and ornamental vegetable garden feature some beautiful displays. Other attractions include the Great Lake where visitors can take boat trips and the adventure playground where the little ones can run around. The house is also open to the public and guided tours are available. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic but there are also 3 cafes onsite and 6 shops. An adult ticket for the house and gardens is just £13.

House was lovely, layout of resort meant a walk around a lot of houses despite being very close to the beach access (it's a beach house ...??). Great to have leisure facilities on site but they are not well maintained and not being made the most of. Resort felt unfinished with the evidence of building work.

Nice property, needs a small bit of maintenance to a hole in the wall and carpet. Extractor fan wasn't working on hob. Blind was damaged. These were minor though and was ideal for our small family of 3.

Holiday lodge clean and tidy a bit on the small side, pub food just ok expected better quality of food, I think the only which may bring us back is a themed weekend, i.e. Halloween, new year evening something along those lines,

A fabulous discovery! The Bay is a great base to explore the east coast from Whitby to Bridlington. The house was clean and had everything you could possibly need. The beach was only a 5 min walk away and was lovely. The only thing missing from the site was a convenience store. Still, there was a garage a few minutes away and also a large Tesco that was close by.
