Tollerton Holiday Park

Dig promises a unique fun and educational experience and is the ideal place for a family day out. The site features four exciting excavation pits filled with Roman, Viking, Medieval and Victorian remains which children will just love digging up! While discovering the treasures children can speak to the friendly staff and learn about the items they are finding.  There are also three discovery rooms where children can try out various archaeological techniques, a science lab where experiments are plentiful and a field tent offering a range of activities. Pre booking is recommended during school holidays and at weekends.

Castle Howard is a beautiful place for a day trip set within 1,000 acres of glorious parkland and garden. The site is home to the historic castle itself but also has many other attractions including the Land Train which is a great way to explore the park and the Great Lake where boat trips can be enjoyed. During school holidays and at weekends in the summer organised activities such as crafting sessions, animal encounters and educational talks are on offer to ensure that the children are well catered for. Other attractions include the Adventure Playground, Nature Trail, Farm Shop and Café.

York Maze is fast becoming one of the regions top tourist attractions during the summertime.  This year the maze has a new design to make it even more fun and interesting.  The maze is carved out of an amazing 1.5 million growing maize plants and is thought to be the largest maze in the world! Of course the maze is the main attraction of the site, but there are plenty of other things for the whole family to enjoy including an adventure playground, 9 hole crazy golf course and a animal petting area where children can meet the animals that eat the maize and watch pig racing! Tractor and trailer rides around the maize are also available.
