Great lodge great location only thing missing a hot tub
A fabulous place to escape to and recharge the batteries.Don and Helen have got it spot on will definitely return again
Very clean and tidy lodges with lovely views of the lake and animals that live there. Owners pleasant and helpful and have obviously put great thought into their guests comfort. Extremely quite and peaceful but actually not far from York and other attractions. The holiday had all the peace of being in the country and getting back to nature you find in camping while still having the luxury you would expect in a good hotel.
cabin was clean and very comfortable, everything you need (and some you don't) supplied. surroundings were wonderful overlooking the lake with the ducks and birds to entertain you. although cabin in woods it is not far or difficult to get out and about.
This is a lovely place to stay. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The fishing is great.
Don and Helen were fantastic hosts the lodge excellent extremely clean and very well equipped from kitchen utensils to wash powder washing up liquid.Even tea coffee sugar and milk for our arrival and a bottle of wine.Husband and friend very impressed with the fishing,In fact made such an impression we've booked to return in September
Well worth a look.
We had a wonderful relaxing time, good location for York and Castle Howard, or to just enjoy the countryside. The lodges are well equipped and cosy, the owners friendly and helpful. Although the site is generally aimed at Anglers you can enjoy spectating and the wildlife, especially the birds on the feeders. We will certainly consider again for a short break.
Perfect relaxing break in peaceful surroundings. Great wildlife and great fishing. Lodges are beautiful and very well equipped. Lovely personal touches made it very special. A special mention to Don and Helen for the wonderfully warm reception and friendliness throughout our stay. Will definitely visit again and couldn't recommend highly enough. Thank you for the detailed directions to the lodge it made finding it very easy.
We were a family of four and had a lovely time at great wood lodges. Don and Helen the owners where the perfect hosts. We really enjoyed the chats we had with them both and enjoyed them showing us round the site. The lodges are perfect . They were obviously built through a labor of love. The care and attention they give to them and the site is unbelievable. The tea, coffee, sugar and wine were much appreciated.
The site is situated in a great area. Nothing is too far away, and you can also enjoy the peace and quiet plus the wildlife if you so wish from your lodge.
We will definitely return soon.
