As usual, Don and Helen were most attentive, friendly and helpful. The lodge was extremely well presented and fully equipped with everything we needed. There were even new settees that were more comfortable than before which was very nice. The surroundings were beautiful and the wildlife astounding. What with the fishing lake only a few paces away what was not to like?

great place for adults to relax
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely weekend break at Great Wood Lodges. The Lodge was one of just four in an idyllic woodland setting overlooking the lake. The wood is full of delightful wildlife which we enjoyed whilst relaxing on our verandah. My husband enjoyed a spot of fishing in the lake just yards from the lodge. We were welcomed by the owner who explained all we needed to know about the Lodge and park. There was a lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and wine. The Lodge was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was provided - beautiful towels, and toiletries and a well equipped kitchen.
