We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge! The place was stunning and had pretty much everything we needed. The main bedroom with the ensuite was lovely and all the beds were super comfy. The hot tub was already hot when we arrived, which was perfect after a long day. If we had to suggest anything, some extra baking trays in the kitchen would be handy and the water pressure in the showers could be a tad better. Still, we had a great time!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was super peaceful and the view of the sea through the window was lovely. It was well stocked, especially the kitchen bits, which made cooking easy. The bed was comfy and having two toilets was a bonus. The large TV with DVD was a nice touch too. We’d come back!

Spacious and clean, good value overall.

Date of stay: 5th December 2024
We had an amazing time at the lodge, honestly. Everything was spot on, except for the seating situation. There’s just one sofa and two arm chairs, which isn’t really enough for six of us. We managed to squeeze three on the sofa, but then someone ended up on the floor or a dining chair. It’s a small thing, but it did matter a bit. Apart from that, everything else was just perfect. We’d definitely come back!

The lodge was lovely overall, but a closer look showed some sofas and chairs could really do with a good deep clean. Still enjoyed it though!

The walks at Hastings Country Park are fantastic, really enjoyed exploring them. Shame about no fishing and the lack of a restaurant, that was a bit disappointing though.

We had a lovely half-term stay at Shearbarn. The location was perfect for exploring Hastings and soaking up all the history-it really made our trip special!
Charlotte, Glasgow
Date of stay: 3rd November 2024
We stayed at Lakeside 3 and honestly, it’s a lovely lodge with stunning views. The place was spotless when we arrived and the hot tub was ready to go, which we really appreciated since it was maintained daily. The site’s location on top of a hill offers some great scenery, but fair warning-the road up is super narrow, so if you’re driving a big vehicle, take care. We enjoyed a pleasant walk through the country park and down into Hastings, using the stairs at the East Hill funicular railway - such a nice stroll with fantastic vistas. We were a bit let down that the pool and restaurant weren’t open, but we underst and COVID’s still causing restrictions. Overall, a nice stay, just a shame about the amenities.

Date of stay: 16th October 2024
The spot was stunning, with a lovely walk along the cliffs to Hastings - really enjoyed that. The caravan was cosy and spotless, plus great for dogs. Only odd thing was the bar not being dog-friendly, but overall, a fantastic place.
Julie
We love Hastings and Shear Barn is a perfect base to explore the area. If you're walking be prepared for "the hill"...
Louise
Lovely stay, lodge very nice and well equipped, decking area a little tired and some parts broken Beautiful views and surrounding beaches ideal for dogs
Matthew
Lovely lodge with great scenery. Nice and quiet.
Angela
Firstly it was fantastic weather which always helps the holiday. The view of the sea and the fern glens were great. The Lodge was clean and comfortable. It is about a mile and half to Hastings sea front, which is downhill on the way in, but a bit of a climb coming back for older people like us, so we tended to get a taxi back (about £6:50, so pretty much the same as for parking). And if you are people who enjoy walking it is a wonderful area. There is not a great deal onsite in regard to entertainment, a bar, a restaurant and a small swimming pool, so if you are people who want a lot of onsite entertainment this is probably not the site for you. We greatly enjoyed it though, very friendly, and we found plenty to do in and around Hastings.
Tracie
Lovely quiet place. The park itself is spotless and well maintained.
Sarah
Gorgeous lodge, lovely, quiet, well looked after site. Small shop could be better stocked, the only downside. Pool was good, staff in reception really helpful when asked for directions locally to the town and walk around Hastings park. Had a lovely week and would definitely recommend.
Daniel
Very nice quiet park we stayed in glen side with a hottub would definitely come again
Lisa
Wonderful holiday and staff very helpful. Will be going again.
Mark
Lodge lovely ? on site facilities pool very small bar area just ok
Phil
Easy Check-in; Clear Directions to Lodge; Clean Comfortable and Well-equipped Accommodation; Quiet Cliff-top Site; Good Site Facilities; Well-maintained Pool; Easy Access to Coast Path and Country Park for Short or Long Walks to East or West to Hastings and beyond; Quick Maintenance Response to Minor Plumbing Issue; Easy Check-out. Walk into Hastings or other beaches requires negotiation of steep slopes and/or steps (or the use of the cliff railway into Hastings); All Staff were Helpful and Efficient. We had a Really Relaxing Break and enjoyed the local area, site facilities, and particularly the easy access to coastal paths for walking.
Mikaela
Really nice peaceful place in a nice location with lots of wildlife. The guy in reception was very happy and helpful which is a nice greeting after a long drive.
