Very dated dirty. Have been in the past but needs a good clean.

Lots of home comforts and we'll equipped. Could do with better quality mattresses as they weren't the most comfortable

Great place for a few days away. So peaceful with the lake and birds.If the hot tub doesn't get up to temp then ring the Emergency line.

Place was clean and tidy; pretty much like a little house. I always pre-wash all tableware/cooking things we would use for peace of mind, and after checking them out you could tell everything had been in the dishwasher but had just been sat for a while. No issues. The hot tub is spot on and clean however my only complaint would be that on the morning of our checkout, we had (i assume) their maintenance worker walking around our lodge at 8am and already draining the hot tub towards 9am. After all we could have been in it! Our check out was 10am so it just felt like they were rushing to get us out.

Good but could be a bit cleaner

Hi, I recently stayed at an accommodation that I’ve booked with you. I checked in on Friday night to find tons of dead and alive flies in the building. We immediately called reception to address the issue we were then told that it hadn’t been cleaned for a week and that maintenance would come out to resolve the issue. We then woke up Saturday morning to find the lodge infested again they’re everywhere it’s none stop we physically cannot relax. We have had to buy our own bug spray to try temporarily fix the issue while waiting for maintenance. Unfortunately, no one has come to help us. We have stayed at these lodge cabins for the past 4 years with family and friends. We’ve never experienced anything like this and don’t want too ever again. We left on Sunday unfortunately as I would rather be at home than have stayed any longer. The cabin smells, there’s something rotten somewhere it’s really unacceptable and a possible health hazard. My concern is that you’ve allowed us to stay here, it’s disgusting and I can’t say I’ve experienced anything like this. the cabin hasn’t been cleaned, maintained properly and its not up to standard and you’ve breached hygiene requirements. For what you’ve charged us, I wouldn’t pay to stay here or recommend it after this experience. It’s cost us so much more to travel down over 100miles for a complete disappointment. We look forward to our Christmas get away which has definitely become a nightmare.

Dishwasher not working

Needs to be up dated the lodge. And when people arrive put a little heating on because the lodge is so big it took a full day just to get the lodge warm.

Excellent stay lodges were superb

Lovely lodge.Everything was clean expect a few plates and dishes but would clean these prior to use anyway. Big fridge and 2 freezers. Bedrooms and bathrooms were plenty big enough. Indoor and outside seating which was nice to have the option. Hot tub was plenty spacious for 2 people and was lovely and clean. Wood burner was definitely worth it and would reccommend this lodge to anyone

Nice spacious lodge but a bit worn inside. Fridge small and only a very small freezer compartment. Disappointed that you had to pay for the Wi-Fi, no complimentary pack on arrival or the basic condiments.

It's a lovely site but the lodge is looking and feeling dated. The lodge wasn't particularly very clean, the floor definitely had not been washed. They state the hot tubs are checked every day and they are not, I would be surprised if they are actually emptied after every stay. The oven was not fixed in place, you open the oven door and the whole oven moves! The fridge was showing an error message. The seals in the windows had blown and let the rain in making a mess. You have to pay for WiFi but it's not very good, luckily you can get 5G so better off using that if you can. The mattresses have also had it, you can feel every spring! The lodges need some TLC to warrant the price of staying there. The area itself is absolutely stunning and lots to do and see but unfortunately the lodges are just not up to par. I personally would not recommend in the state they are but I am sure if updated and some money spent on them could make them great again.

A nice well earned rest well worth the money

I have visited lakeside twice now once in 2015 and again this year It has been fantastic both time's it’s in a great location, really clean and the staff were very welcoming. The only thing we could tell from our most recent visit is that the lodges needed a bit of money spent on them to freshen them up a bit. You could see that work is being done to some of the lodges with surrounding walls being built around the lodge and hot tubs area. Overall I would recommend lakeside but it does need some investment in the lodges to modernise them for the price you pay.

Clean well equipped lodges

Had a nice break, but would probably not go back.

Superb lodges with fabulous facilities

Left our holiday early to infestation of flies inside the lodge and rats out on the decking. Left a letter asking for someone to contact us to discuss and nobody bothered to call. Vile. Waste of time and money.

Lack of useable mirrors, and no full length mirror. Also no dressing table/chair area for getting ready.

Beautiful setting.The lodge looks tired, the stairs are extremely noisy once at the top and need attention. They woke everyone up. The hot tub water temperature is set far too high, it was only used once for ten minutes.

Fantastic 4th visit

A lovely peaceful site. High quality accommodation with great relaxing atmosphere. Nice cliff top walk and lakeside views. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy to find and hot tub is just fantastic! Comfy beds and well stocked kitchen.

Absolutely loved my stay, the staff were super helpful whenever we needed anything. The location is just beautiful. Will definitely be booking to come back again.

Very peacefull site and close to Hornsea town and the beach, shame there a new caravan site going on the field next to it, but still plenty of open space

Floor and some furniture a little tired however did not detract from luxury experience hot tub private surroundings tranquil easy to forget the road lovely cliff top walk to Hornsea reception check in and check out easy staff at reception friendly would highly recommend
