Lodge was ideal for us.Just a couple of points:A dish cloth in the kitchen would be useful together with a tea towel and washing up liquid.

A beautiful lodge. Very clean with everything you would need for a break away. The hot tub was lovely to chill in with friends. This was our third time here and will definitely be going again.

A wonderful place to relax with lovely surroundings for dog walking. The cottage has excellent facilities such as the outdoor bar and hot tub, along with sauna and shower area. This was my 3rd visit to Rockingham Forest and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to switch off and relax.

Lovely lodge first time in this model for us but very similar layout to the Chesterton but with the hot tub to the front of the lodge which I think I preferred.Couple of minor niggles the main bed was large but not the same as the Chesterton and the room seemed designed for the same size bed so there was a large gap between the bed and the side shelves which made using a CPAP a little awkward.Loved the round hot tub but there was no visible way to secure the open lid which did lead to it falling on us once while using the hot tub.

Ok apart from one downstairs loo ! Did find one or two basics missing ie no grill pan for oven and what felt like penny pinching in providing one dishwasher tablet and a small tube of washing up liquid plus one bin liner!

I recently stayed at this charming cabin nestled in the heart of a breathtaking forest. The location was absolutely stunning, offering serene views of towering trees and a tranquil stream nearby. The cabin itself was impeccably clean, with every detail carefully attended to, ensuring a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The facilities were top-notch, from the fully equipped kitchen that made cooking a breeze. Overall, my stay was nothing short of magical, and I can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise.

We booked a weekend for our 40th wedding anniversary and wanted to be able to take the dog. The Kingscliff was ideal, we had room for his crate and plenty of space for us. I love that the front door had a gate, which meant we could have the doors open and George could explore to his heart's content. This is not a place for a cheap weekend, but if you want the quiet and quality, then it could be for you.

Great lodge. Loved the hot tub on the decking leading straight out from the living room.Kitchen was good, had everything in it to comfortably cook family meals which we did. Bedrooms were nice and an ensuite in each was a bonus.

A relaxing and peaceful holiday, it was my third time here and I’m never disappointed. The accommodations are spotless, tidy and very well looked after. Although the park was busy it was quiet. There are lots of great walks to go on and the Bistro had the most delicious cakes. Would definitely recommend!

Stayed mid-week with my partner in one of The Elton lodges (with hot tub). Location not too far from the A1/A47 junction and about 15 minutes out if Peterborough/Stamford. Access to the park is via an electric coded gate: so ensure you respond to a email you will receive a few days prior to arrival so you can email your vehicle(s) details to the Parks reception to enable the ANPR camera to recognise your registration number to give you access. Although on the day of arrival, you also get emailed the gate code and your lodge key safe code to enable self check in. Lodges and surrounding areas were highly maintained, very clean and all staff we met were lovely. There is at least one allocated parking spot per lodge and there is an electric car charging point if needed (pod point). There is an undercover area for communal outdoor BBQ'ing and on the lodges patio also an area to put an outdoor portable BBQ if you bring one. There's a outdoor chess set and kids play area. We used the local on site shop for a lovely coffee and cake at a reasonable prices although it shut at 5pm (may change depending on the season)? We went for a few walks around the park on the trails. These were quite muddy due to the time of year but don't let that put you off, although an outdoor area with a tap to wash your boots afterwards would have been ideal. Like others we found some of the trail signs confusing and maybe they could be more colour coded for different routes and the signs pointing in the right direction a little clearer, although you won't get lost. You get a welcome pack in your lodge with a few drinks, tea towel, dish cloth, a little washing up liquid (enough for about 3 washes) and 1 dishwasher tablet. Would we go again? Definitely. We're now looking to book again later in the year.

Excellent place to chill and have fun with friends, we took some beanbags with us so we weren’t all squashed in the sofas

Amazing the only thing I could say is every time we go the little extras are getting a little less we started with robes nice coffee and tea with hot chocolate and biscuits .and a cleaning starter pack. Now no robes cheap coffee and tea and biscoffee biscuits..but the overall experience is amazing very clean hot tub is kept to a very good standard cleaned and filled everyday the onsite bistro has amazing food cakes and pizza are delicious

We had a lovely stay at the weekend. Checkin was so much easier being contactless. We enjoyed the bistro being open even though service was shocking, the food was really nice when it arrived and we were compensated with a bottle of wine for having to wait over an hour for pizza and a panini. The lodge itself was great but we feel they need to invest in some better quality frying pans as the ones there are terrible and were a nightmare to try and wash as one of them wasn’t non stick and even cooking an egg was impossible to clean so we apologise for not being able to fully clean the frying pans before leaving!! The beds are really comfy and the hot tub was fab. We look forward to booking again but will probably need to bring our own frying pans next time unless better ones are supplied.

Lovely spacious lodge. Easy access to the hot tub which you can use in all weathers with it being covered. I prefer a high back sofa but they are practical.

Had an amazing holiday. Love how eco and environmentally friendly the site is

We had a brilliant stay. The lodge was a really good size with plenty of space for the children to play. Loved the hot tub. Enjoyed watching all the animals around the park. Only thing missing was a childrens play area, but there is loads of space for them to run around and play in the fields. The shop was really well stocked and reasonably priced.
Janet
Our lodge was wonderful and the peaceful surroundings were lovely Having food delivered from the little shop was a bonus, the ladies were very cheerful and helpful The only little problem for us was getting in and out of the hottub, but didn't deter from our enjoyment!

Great lodge, very clean and lovely quiet surroundings.

The site has 56 high spec lodges surrounded by forest, only just over a year old so all in immaculate condition. The grounds are vast and all very well kept . It looks like the site is going to be developed with further lodges in the future as the reception area and a small shop selling provisions is 1 mile from the current lodges, you drive down a well lit tarmac road to get there. Site is very peaceful as there are no other facilities . Lots of nice walks from lodges and dogs are allowed in some lodges. Our only criticism was check in was a bit chaotic. Check in was 4pm, we arrived at 3-40pm to be told along with everyone else that lodges weren't ready, with limited parking available this caused a few problems . As you might expect everyone started to gather at 4pm and a long queue formed. We finally got our key at 4-30pm. We have stayed in lots of lodges over the course of years and this has never occurred before, so I hope they can sort this problem out as we would definitely like to return as the park is in a great place for visiting the Rutland area
