Date of stay: 26th March 2025
We booked Rockingham Forest for a long weekend so we could visit our son n Stamford. All the reviews were positive so we thought we’d try it. Booking was straight forward and with regular updates. The lodge was great! Clean and spacious with the most comfortable beds! Walks and facilities well sign posted. We used the cafe for takeaway pizza which was amazing. If I had to give a negative it would be lack of parking spaces, we had 2 cars, some lodges had 2 spaces others like ours had 1 and spare spaces where limited. However, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Everything you needed for a comfortable stay! Lodge was spotless when we arrived and the welcome packs (including one for the dog) were very much appreciated! All the needed fittings and items to cook whilst there - we just recommend you bring your own salt/pepper and coffee/tea/sugar as you'll likely go through the welcome sachets quickly

Again everything we needed was there. We had our bikes with us, for us we could have done with a lock up area perhaps on the decking side.

Lodge was ideal for us.Just a couple of points:A dish cloth in the kitchen would be useful together with a tea towel and washing up liquid.

We had a lovely stay in the castor lodge with the hot tub. In arrival to the lodge the staff were very helpful and had left the room spotless with complementary hot drink selections, milk and cleaning items. Around the lodges it was lovely and peaceful we had a really relaxing stay and we would definitely recommend and would come back again! Thank you.

Absolutely loved our short break in a lodge with hot tub. It was a very relaxing few days after the Christmas and New Year festivities, just what we needed to recharge our batteries. The lodge was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Being in the hot tub in the snow was an added bonus! We enjoyed some lovely walks and all of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Not enough storage in bedrooms. Not enough cupboard space in kitchen and definitely not enough pots and pans to cater for 8 people

We had a brilliant stay. The lodge was a really good size with plenty of space for the children to play. Loved the hot tub. Enjoyed watching all the animals around the park. Only thing missing was a childrens play area, but there is loads of space for them to run around and play in the fields. The shop was really well stocked and reasonably priced.

Our lodge was wonderful and the peaceful surroundings were lovely Having food delivered from the little shop was a bonus, the ladies were very cheerful and helpful The only little problem for us was getting in and out of the hottub, but didn't deter from our enjoyment!

The site has 56 high spec lodges surrounded by forest, only just over a year old so all in immaculate condition. The grounds are vast and all very well kept . It looks like the site is going to be developed with further lodges in the future as the reception area and a small shop selling provisions is 1 mile from the current lodges, you drive down a well lit tarmac road to get there. Site is very peaceful as there are no other facilities . Lots of nice walks from lodges and dogs are allowed in some lodges. Our only criticism was check in was a bit chaotic. Check in was 4pm, we arrived at 3-40pm to be told along with everyone else that lodges weren't ready, with limited parking available this caused a few problems . As you might expect everyone started to gather at 4pm and a long queue formed. We finally got our key at 4-30pm. We have stayed in lots of lodges over the course of years and this has never occurred before, so I hope they can sort this problem out as we would definitely like to return as the park is in a great place for visiting the Rutland area
