Overall, we had a lovely stay at the lodge. It was well-equipped and comfortable, with the hot tub being a real highlight. The only minor issue was the shortage of toilet rolls - with four of us, two rolls didn’t quite cover it. Apart from that, everything was spot on and we genuinely enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend!

Initially, we needed to do a quick clean when we arrived, but it was nothing serious. The cabin was spacious and really lovely. We had such a great time, it’s a shame to leave!

Overall pretty decent stay, but we ran out of towels and toilet paper. Reception was closed, so unsure if we could have asked for extras.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was spotless and well-maintained and the hot tub was a lovely bonus. The quietness suited us perfectly and the walks right from the door were fantastic. Plus, the village has a couple of cosy spots to grab a drink or bite to eat - just a mile away. Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway!

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it’s lovely. The hot tub was definitely a highlight! Some furniture might need a refresh, but everything else was spot on - clean, functional and well-equipped with all the appliances. The heating was a bit unpredictable, but the place stayed cosy enough. We’d come back!

The cabin had pretty much everything we needed and the decking was a real highlight - loved knowing our dog was safe. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The hot tub was a bit temperamental, but overall, we’d definitely come back for another stay!

We arrived on a Friday around 5pm and were told the hot tub wouldn’t be ready for a couple of hours, which we expected. We checked it again at 9pm and it was still freezing cold, only about 32.5 degrees. We messaged the out-of-hours number and were told they couldn’t guarantee the water would be warm, which we’ve heard at other places but never experienced on the first night. The next morning, the temp was 36.6, but it was still too cold for the kids, who only stayed in for about 15 minutes before complaining. We raised this with the manager, who said the temperature had been checked that morning and was correct, but it clearly wasn’t. Later, at 2pm on Saturday, Callum came to check the temp and explained that they now use air pumps as a heat source, which obviously doesn’t cut it for heating the water properly. Honestly, if we’d known about this setup beforehand, we’d have gone elsewhere. So, half of our break was affected because the hot tub was basically unusable. The lodge itself was okay, but the pans were pretty manky-scratched, rusty, with handles missing from lids-and there were cobwebs everywhere. It feels like management isn’t putting enough effort into cleaning, maybe cutting back on vacuuming to save on the heat pump costs. They offered a ‘deal’ for a return visit, but honestly, we wouldn’t bother. It’s a shame because the location is lovely, but the experience was disappointing.

We had a fantastic stay! The hot tub overlooking the lake was perfect and the cabin had everything we needed. Only downside was the creaking beds, but overall, it was a lovely break. We’ll definitely come back!

We chose this lodge mainly because of its peaceful location, tucked away from the busy spots, which we really appreciated. The set-up with two doubles and a twin suited our group perfectly. The kitchen had everything we needed and the hot tub, recently replaced, was a real treat. Just a little fencing around it for more privacy would be perfect!

We stayed at the lodge recently and could see some of the soft furnishings, especially the sofas, are a bit worn out and could do with replacing. The bathroom floors also need some attention, with blackened silicone seals and a few repairs. Overall, it’s still a lovely place, but it’s starting to look a little tired. With a few updates, it’d be fantastic again!

Date of stay: 20th November 2024
Honestly, this was one of the nicest stays we’ve had in ages. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth - parking was easy and checking in was quick and friendly. The lodge felt just like a home away from home, fully equipped with everything you could need to cook up a storm and relax. The hot tub was absolutely spot on - kept perfectly clean, hot and with the most stunning views to unwind with. We originally booked for a girls weekend, but the staff’s helpfulness really blew us away, especially since our original booking was cancelled just five hours before check-in. Cedar Retreats really pulled out all the stops to save the day and we’re so grateful. Definitely coming back with the family soon. Thanks a million for making it special!

We had a lovely stay overall. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, which was really handy. The hot tub was definitely the highlight - we used it every day! The lodge was pretty clean, just a few cobwebs here and there. Though, finding a previous guest’s bathing suit in the bathroom did make us wonder if it was thoroughly cleaned before we arrived.

We loved how central everything was - Leyburn, Thirsk, Knaresborough and the Arboretum were all easily reachable. The local pub, The Bruce, had really tasty food and a lovely vibe. The hot tub was definitely the best part - perfect for unwinding after a busy day exploring or shopping. Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was super comfy and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a highlight, just a bit more outdoor lighting would be perfect.
Sarah
Date of stay: 22nd September 2024
Overall, we had a lovely stay. The place was almost perfect, but the crockery felt a bit plain - some nicer china would’ve made it feel more special. Also, the lake view was pretty hidden behind the plants, which was a bit disappointing. Still, good experience!
Sarah

Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was huge and had everything we could think of. Hot tub was fantastic!
James
Date of stay: 15th September 2024
We stayed at Daleside Lodge and honestly, it ticked all the boxes. The rooms were huge and spotless, with comfy furniture. Parking was a breeze-plenty of space for two cars, which isn’t always the case. The lodges are well spaced out too, so it feels private. Overall, really enjoyable!
Karen
Was a lovely park, lots of space & super location for exploring the Dales.
David

Possibly the best lodge we have been too. It was absolutely immaculate and very spacious. The views over the lake are beautiful and the hot tub is large and is checked every day. Staff were friendly and the location is perfect for families. There’s so much to do within a 10 minute drive. We had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be back.
