Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with the cleanliness of the lodge. It hadn't been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived, despite the cleaning log showing it was last done in mid-December and we visited in mid-February. There was dust everywhere, especially on the bedroom furniture and water marks on the shower screens and tiles that clearly hadn't been wiped down in ages. Not what we expected at all.

The sofas had quite a few crumbs under the cushions, but overall, it didn't spoil our visit.

The lodge was really nice and quite roomy and the hot tub was a lovely touch. Only slight issue with chlorine, but didn’t bother us much. Beds were super comfy!

We had a lovely stay at the lodge! It really had everything we needed and the beds were super comfy. If you’re after fluffy pillows, you'll need to bring your own, but that’s a small thing. The welcome pack for our dog was a sweet touch - blanket, water bowl, toy and bags, which we appreciated. The style of the lodge was nice, especially walking into the utility room with plenty of space for coats and shoes. We’d definitely come back and recommend it!

We stayed at this place and honestly, the site itself is pretty nice. However, our main issue was with the lodge and staff. We booked through Hoseasons, but it turns out it was a private lodge and the staff couldn’t really help us. The hot tub was a huge letdown - it never really heated properly, so it felt more like a warm bath than a hot tub, which was really frustrating since we paid extra for it. Also, there was no hoover, which was a bit annoying as we had a dog with us. Reception said it’s down to the owner what’s left in the lodge, which seems odd. Still, the surroundings are lovely, but the lodge could do with some improvements.

We stayed at Turnberry 14 lodge recently and honestly, it was a pretty great experience. The place was spotless and nicely decorated - just our style. The kitchen had loads of utensils and having a dishwasher plus a washer/dryer was a real plus, especially after days out. A bigger pot would’ve been handy for four of us, but the two smaller ones did the job. They even left some dishwasher tablets, a sponge and a tea towel, which was thoughtful. We did notice a leftover drink bag on the furniture, which could’ve been cleared up and we fixed a loose curtain rail ourselves. The gas hob and grill were a bit temperamental at times, but it didn’t spoil our stay. Overall, we’d happily come back. Thanks!

The silver VIP lodge was really lovely, such a beautiful space. The beds were super comfy and having an en-suite with a bath was a nice touch. The hot tub was definitely a highlight for us!

The place felt pretty old and a bit tired. No hot tub like they promised, which was a letdown. The microwave handle was hanging off and the cushions on the sofa had seen better days-they were all flat and saggy. Not what we expected at all, really. Wouldn’t recommend unless they do some repairs and update things a bit!

We stayed in a lovely, roomy lodge that felt really comfy. The only hiccup was the shower temperature-probably user error, but it took a bit of fiddling. The hot tub mats looked a bit grimy and the welcome mat was a Christmas one, which was odd since we visited in February. Honestly, just small things, but otherwise, it was a great stay!

The shower panel was missing a strip, but reception sorted it out fast. Had a good time overall, no complaints.

Honestly, the view from the lodge was lovely, but the cleanliness was disappointing. We had to wash all the pots, pans and glasses before using them, which was a bit of a pain. The worktops had crumbs, mirrors in the bedroom and bathroom were filthy and there were cobwebs around the fireplace. We've stayed at other Hoseasons parks that were much cleaner.

We really expected the lodge to be cleaner. We had to wash all the cutlery, glasses and pans ourselves - they weren’t very clean to start with. The glasses especially looked grubby. There were cobwebs above the kitchen blind and a half-eaten biscuit on the floor near the sofa! The patio door was covered in finger marks and the cover on the swivel chair was split, with the cushion damaged. Luckily, the bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless and the hot tub was lovely. We mentioned the issues at reception on leaving, but it didn’t seem to make much difference.

The lodge was spotless and super cosy, though a bit small for longer stays. Our daughter adored the upstairs hideaway.

Date of stay: 16th October 2024
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with the stay. The lodges looked nothing like the pictures, with doors that wouldn’t shut properly and handles hanging loose. The hot tubs weren’t private at all - we could see into about 5 or 6 other lodges, which was a bit of a letdown. They also looked messy, with bits and a champagne cork left inside. The woman on reception was quite rude when we arrived early and the TVs were ancient, not even tuned in. For £500, we expected much better!

Overall, the wear and tear show signs of end of season use. Not perfect.

We faced some problems during our stay. The hot tub was only functional for one night and the lodge wasn’t quite as clean as expected, especially for a Gold VIP.

We stayed in the so-called '6 person' lodge and honestly, it was a bit of a disappointment. The description was misleading - it said there were two double bedrooms (one with en-suite) and a twin, but it was actually one double with en-suite and two twin rooms. Not the biggest deal, but then there was the family shower room. Turns out, it was just a bath without an overhead shower, so six adults had to use the en-suite for showers, which was a bit of a pain. The hot tub looked decent in photos, but in reality, it was tiny - more like a hot tub for three people and it lost water quickly when trying to fit a fourth. We had to ask reception to fill it up again, but then it took ages to heat back up, so half of our group didn't get to enjoy it. The lodge itself was clean and nicely furnished, although the sofa was a bit tight for six and we definitely could have used more plates and glasses. Overall, the place was okay, but these issues really affected our stay. I wouldn't rate it highly, but I will say the cleanliness was good and it looked nice. Just a shame about the misleading info and the hot tub size!

We had such a lovely stay! Yorkshire is stunning and the site was spotless and well looked after. The Lodge was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!

We stayed here recently and honestly, it wasn’t the safest for pets at all. No gate on the decking, so we had to figure out ways to keep our dog safe, which was a bit of a hassle. It’d be good if this was mentioned in the listing. The place wasn’t very clean either-found half-eaten food and wrappers in the bedroom. Also, the dust on the shelves was a bit off-putting. The hot tub lid looked like it needed replacing too, with bits coming off. Could be better!

We stayed at the lodge recently. Overall, it was quite nice and mostly tidy inside, which we appreciated. However, a microwave would have been handy. The outdoor deck was a bit dirty and the hot tub was quite grimy when we arrived. We requested it to be cleaned, but no one came, so we had to wipe it down ourselves. We only used it twice because of that.
Linda
Excellent holiday park, the lodge, waterside, was in need of some renovations but was clean. You can tell it had been there for some time. All the park handymen were very friendly and helpful, hot tub was checked daily. Over all we would recommend this park.
Mandy
First time in Yorkshire and what a fabulous setting this was. Accommodation was clean and check in was brilliant. All staff were friendly and JJ's was lovely. Would definitely return when next in Yorkshire.
Robert
Lovely relaxing short break in a fabulous lodge with hot tub set in beautiful surroundings .
Susan
Nice quiet place to stay . Lovely clean accommodation with good facilities and good well kept golf course.
Elizabeth
Second time we ve been lodges are clean plenty of space . Lovely surroundings . Had a lovely relaxing weekend
Michael
The park is a relatively new site alongside the golf course. The staff were friendly & helpful, the maintenance staff very efficient. While we were there the week days were quite & relaxing but come the weekend the noise level increases considerably with the extra numbers of holiday makers.
Wendy
The only downside I have is that the Internet connection was poor therefore we could not watch the TV or play music without it buffering and there is not much signal for mobile phones. I think there could be a welcome pack provided with instructions for the cabin and hot tub
Kath
Beautiful lodge and excellent food
Kay
