Fun Days Out in Gwynedd

Treasure Island Fun Centre

Located in Anglesey in the North of Wales this has to be one of our favourite attractions in the area.  The maze of ramps, slides and tubes will keep the little ones entertained and allow to them to run off their excess energy.  For kids aged 1 to 10 we highly recommend this place.

Penrhyn Castle

Situated in the Gwynedd area of Wales this neo-Norman castle is well worth a visit.  Full of historic and fascinating objects this Castle will appeal to many.  Some of the highlights include the amazing collection of paintings, The Victorian Kitchen, the Servants Rooms, the one ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria and the mock Norman furniture.

Dinosaur Park

This is a popular theme park for kids of all ages where you can follow Dinosaur Trails, play on the adventure playgrounds and on rainy days head for the indoor play den.  You will find this attraction in the Tenby area of Mid Wales and we think it's great value for money.  If you fancy a snack while you are there then the Dinosaur Restaurant and Picnic Area are on hand.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you like gardens then this place is sure to appeal.  With some of the most rare plants in the country and even in the world your visit will help to protect some of these species.  Attractions within the Botanic Garden include a mini farm, discovery centre, adventure zone and bee garden.  Located in the Llanarthne area of Mid Wales this place is easily accessible from many of the holiday parks in the area.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is the premier family fun park in Wales and has lots to offer for adults and children alike. Within the park are amazing Treetop Towers, exciting Jungle Boats and a mysterious Crocodile Maze. Fun activities are plentiful including Archery, Stilt Walking and even the very unusual Den Building activity. New for 2010 is Little Forest Play Barn which is the perfect place for the little ones to run around and is also handy if the weather is not great. Don't miss the amazing shows at the outdoor Forest Theatre which include magic shows, and pirate experiences.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Welsh Mountain Zoo is situated above Colwyn Bay offering stunning views and amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a relaxing day out with the kids. The beautiful gardens are home to many species of animals including some rare and endangered species. This Zoo is very much a conservation programme and educational talks are given regularly. Highlights include Sealions Rock, The Penguin Playtime show and the Chimp Encounter.

Glasfryn Activity Parc

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.

Rhondda Heritage Park

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Good break again! Parking on grass opposed to concrete wasn't great in wet weather but didn't affect our great trip.
Victoria
We were very impressed with how welcoming the staff were and how lovely and clean our accommodation was. A thoroughly enjoyable break at a lovely site. Would recommend.
Craig
Clean, beautiful views easy beach access. Nice staff
Stephanie
Pleasantly surprised, good value and very clean comfortable accommodation and facilities. Location a bit remote but we got the train into Barmouth which was nice. Restaurant opening times not ideal for us, we’ve small children so 6pm is a bit late for us.
Louise
Brilliant holiday restaurant wasn't open when we were here.
Vikki
We had a lovely time here at new year very relaxed and beautiful surroundings
Lee
Excellent service Disappointed by menu Good value bar
Natalie
Lovey park and area although it is a good drive down winding roads to get to local town for shops etc. Went for new year and all the tickets sold out for the party so was left with nowhere to go without a 30 minute drive
Robert
Very Happy with the caravan park, clean and tidy, very nice caravan. Would stay here again. Only little thing was that there was a lot of older children on the soft play so put our younger children off playing in there.
Sarah
Lovely site. Caravan was clean and very well equipped. The facilities were great and the food in the club house was very nice. We've had a lovely holiday and will definitely be back.
Lydia
Wonderful stay at Sunbeach. The caravan was spotless and well equipped with a sea view. The site, swimming pool etc also very clean and the meals in the Restaurant very nice and reasonably priced. All in all a wonderful holiday and would definitely stay again.
