Fun Days Out in Gwynedd

Treasure Island Fun Centre

Located in Anglesey in the North of Wales this has to be one of our favourite attractions in the area.  The maze of ramps, slides and tubes will keep the little ones entertained and allow to them to run off their excess energy.  For kids aged 1 to 10 we highly recommend this place.

Penrhyn Castle

Situated in the Gwynedd area of Wales this neo-Norman castle is well worth a visit.  Full of historic and fascinating objects this Castle will appeal to many.  Some of the highlights include the amazing collection of paintings, The Victorian Kitchen, the Servants Rooms, the one ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria and the mock Norman furniture.

Dinosaur Park

This is a popular theme park for kids of all ages where you can follow Dinosaur Trails, play on the adventure playgrounds and on rainy days head for the indoor play den.  You will find this attraction in the Tenby area of Mid Wales and we think it's great value for money.  If you fancy a snack while you are there then the Dinosaur Restaurant and Picnic Area are on hand.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you like gardens then this place is sure to appeal.  With some of the most rare plants in the country and even in the world your visit will help to protect some of these species.  Attractions within the Botanic Garden include a mini farm, discovery centre, adventure zone and bee garden.  Located in the Llanarthne area of Mid Wales this place is easily accessible from many of the holiday parks in the area.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is the premier family fun park in Wales and has lots to offer for adults and children alike. Within the park are amazing Treetop Towers, exciting Jungle Boats and a mysterious Crocodile Maze. Fun activities are plentiful including Archery, Stilt Walking and even the very unusual Den Building activity. New for 2010 is Little Forest Play Barn which is the perfect place for the little ones to run around and is also handy if the weather is not great. Don't miss the amazing shows at the outdoor Forest Theatre which include magic shows, and pirate experiences.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Welsh Mountain Zoo is situated above Colwyn Bay offering stunning views and amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a relaxing day out with the kids. The beautiful gardens are home to many species of animals including some rare and endangered species. This Zoo is very much a conservation programme and educational talks are given regularly. Highlights include Sealions Rock, The Penguin Playtime show and the Chimp Encounter.

Glasfryn Activity Parc

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.

Rhondda Heritage Park

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Great caravan. Not much room in bedroom to move about. Lovely and warm with plenty of hot water. Only thing was the oven was rubbish. The highest heat only just cooked a tray of Chips in one hour. Very poor. It would be better if electric.

The fire was not working as someone had taken the remote. However the heating was working and they supplied a blow heater as the lounge area was cold on an evening as the temperatures dropped

This was our 1st holiday in a pet friendly caravan so I was worried that there would be hair or a smell from the previous occupants, well how wrong was I! There wasn't a trace of a previous dog. It was clean tidy and smelt lovely, it was a home from home immediately. The site was lovely and we would definitely go back again

Had a fantastic week, would return
Good place to stay to visit the local area. Facilities are good and the staff helpful
Relaxing holiday and the site was quite quiet during our stay. Staff were helpful and friendly and would definitely consider staying there again.
Stayed for a midweek break out of season so not all facilities open but this was not an issue as we wanted a quiet environment. It was a good value break in a lovely caravan which was spotless and very well equipped with central heating and free wifi. Good location close to many attractions so easy to get around. The staff were really friendly and very helpful.
Amazing holiday, very relaxed, lovely accomodation, beautiful views and walks, plenty of beaches to choose from.
This place is amazing. Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, great local shops only 3 miles down the road. I would recommend bringing wellie boots because if it rains heavily while it's high tide, the drains can overflow and your caravan could be surrounded by water. Otherwise everything else was perfect
Nice and relaxing quite
nice quite and clean camp
We stayed in one of the biggest caravans that can sleep six. The caravan was very comfortable and kept clean. There was an en-suite we and a further shower with wc that helped as we were a group of five. The facilities in the park in terms of swimming pool etc were basic but satisfactory; the place around is extremely beautiful and the staff are helpful and obliging. Good value for money and would recommend this place to others
