Just 100 metres from the safest beach in Cornwall, Porth Beach, and two miles from the bustling and popular town of Newquay, these comfortable caravans are a good base from which to explore the many local attractions. The quaint Cornish fishing village of Padstow is just ten miles away with its famous 'Camel Trail' cycle path.

There are some great places to eat and drink in Falmouth - the Pandora Inn dates back to the 13th century and you can sit and enjoy your meal at the end of the pontoon. Falmouth is also home to the Surf School where experienced and qualified staff are on hand to help you learn to ride the crest of a wave.

The Calypso caravan sleeps up to six with a double and a twin bedroom plus space in the living room for two extra people. It also has a flat screen TV and lovely views out to Porth Beach.

There are some beautiful formal gardens in the area - Bosvigo in Truro is a very English country garden with a number of rare and hard-to-find plants for sale.

Fun Days Out in North Cornwall

A trip to the zoo is the highlight of many holidays and Newquay Zoo is a very impressive one. There are hundreds of animals to meet ranging from the cute and cuddly to the creepy and slimy. Children will love the animal encounters, penguin pool and Tarzan trail and there is also a play area. The site also has oriental and exotic lakeside gardens with picnic areas and a café and gift shop.

This attraction is ideal for families with children of different ages. Older kids will love the climbing wall, Go Karts and laser shooting while the younger ones can run of some energy on the play area or enjoy a ride on the bumper boats. The site is also home to Cornwall's largest Pitch and Put and a huge maze.

This haven for monkeys is located in beautiful woodland affording views over the gorgeous Cornish coast. There are 4 breeds of monkey cared for at the sanctuary, which has been open since 1964. The whole family will enjoy meeting the cheeky monkeys and the educational talks offer visitors the chance to learn about their natural habitat and the dangers they face in the wild. There is also a gift shop, café and picnic area.

Paradise Park first opened back in 1973 as a tropical bird garden and has since expanded to offer refuge to many different species of animal. The park aims to provide a fun and educational experience to its visitors and has daily talks and events to offer a more hands on approach. Playful otters, rare Cornish Chough, shy Red Pandas, and the beautiful native Red Squirrels can all be seen. There is also a fun farm area where younger children can get creative with crafting sessions during school holidays. The recent addition of the indoor Jungle Barn makes Paradise Park an excellent all weather attraction.

This amazing family day out has it all.  From thrilling rides for kids and adults alike, as well as award winning gardens to stroll around this is one experience not to be missed.  Some of the highlights include the Wildlife Experience Animal Show and the undercover re-creation of a World War II blitzed street.  Open most of the year this is an all weather choice with plenty of indoor options for rainy days. You will find the Flambards Experience in Helston Cornwall.

We have selected this attraction as one of our favourites in the Cornwall region as it appeals to children of all ages.  You can really get a hands on experience at this farm with the opportunity to stroke, feed, cuddle and learn about the animals.  Located in Newquay in Cornwall this Farm is easily accessible and well worth a visit.

We had a lovely relaxing long weekend. The holiday park was lovely and clean. The caravan was spacious with a decent kitchen to prepare meals and snacks.

The only issue was a nasty smell in the bathroom.

Love the Rio but we stayed in the peak season and it stretches the bank balance a bit.
Only to be expected and if the site / area wasn't as good as it is I wouldn't pay it.
We stayed in caravan 30 this year the one in the photo above.
It has the biggest garden area and close to all facilities.

Very clean accommodation, lovely location, 3 days really not long enough and not so good value for money given that you can not check in on your first day until 4pm and you have to check out by 10:30am

excellent would go again
Great place on the beach nice and safe for the kids caravans and site in great condition
Had a lovely break at Porth Beach, booked as a last minute break. A good base for exploring Cornwall either walking or by car. It was just over the road from the beach. Lovely static caravan, very clean and cosy. The site was fairly quiet whilst we were there which was just what we were looking for.
Lovely place to stay and not far from Newquay...beautiful walk and the views are fabulous! Stayed here before and would recommend always to family & friends ❤️
Been there 3 times and would happily go back again. It's a great base for exploring Cornwall.
We come here every year, mainly for the location, plus it's nice and quiet as it isn't too big and the caravans are always to a high standard! It's a shame there isn't a little park anymore and the little shop on the front has gone so you could grab some milk etc and the wifi is not so great for the price but these are the only downfalls, everything else is fab and we will be returning next year no doubt 😊
Perfect for a weeks stay
Peaceful and quiet surroundings. Clean and tidy. Good value for money.
As a family of 4 we visited for a week July 2016 and booked to return for 2 weeks in August 2017 before we left site. The site facilities are spotless and the staff at reception, including the attendant in the night booth are always smiling and very helpful. With a beach across the road that has approx 1 acre of sand that never gets wet you can stay there all day and BBQ as the sun goes down. We stayed in the static caravans over the last 2 years but are looking for a campervan now so we may be able to afford to visit more often. We live in West Yorkshire so it is not cheap to commute but, worth every mile on the motorway once you get there. Even for a long weekend. Canna wait for 2018 to arrive 😘❤️💙😘❤️💙
