Set in a lush green valley surrounded by National Trust land just a short walk from the magnificent sandy beach of Holywell Bay and its famous Gull Rocks this beautifully situated park is only 7 miles from Newquay.

Among the fantastic facilities on offer are an outdoor heated swimming pool with a 300ft waterslide, Toddlers’ Paddling Pool, Adventure Play Area and Indoor Tots Ball Pool. There;s also a separate playground for the under 5s.

Under 10s are kept entertained at the exciting Star Landers Kids' Club where they can learn new skills, make friends and try out different activities. Once the sun goes down there's family entertainment on offer in the Entertainment Venue or you can simply sit back relax and enjoy a quiet drink in the bar.  If you like to eat out as a family then you'll love the Ellenglaze Bar and Grill with outdoor patio.  New in 2011 this lovely restaurant is ideal for families looking for a relaxing place to enjoy a meal and a few drinks together.

There are some superb days out in this area including Minature Park in Truro.  Here you can visit the Landmark Gardens, Goony Farm and The Dinosaur Trail which will delight children.  If you like splashing around in the pool then head for Ships and Castles Leisure Pool in Falmouth where you can experience the wave machine and an exciting river ride.

Accommodation is in well equipped caravans and you can also stay in a bungalow if you prefer.  We love the Porthtowan Caravan which was new in 2011.  Sleeping 6 in total this caravan provides a comfortable base for your stay and includes heating in the bedrooms and heated towel rail in the bathroom.  The 12ft Trevose Caravan is excellent value for money and sleeps up to 8.  Another option which won't break the bank is the Holywell Bungalow.  With a double and a twin bedroom this makes a great value base for your stay.  For larger groups and families there are a selection of caravans sleeping up to 8.  These incude the Hayle and the Trewan Caravans which are both 12ft wide and offer plenty of space.

Our Top Tip
"Landmark Gardens are the perfect place for a family day out in the summer - don't forget to pack the picnic."

Fun Days Out in North Cornwall

A trip to the zoo is the highlight of many holidays and Newquay Zoo is a very impressive one. There are hundreds of animals to meet ranging from the cute and cuddly to the creepy and slimy. Children will love the animal encounters, penguin pool and Tarzan trail and there is also a play area. The site also has oriental and exotic lakeside gardens with picnic areas and a café and gift shop.

This attraction is ideal for families with children of different ages. Older kids will love the climbing wall, Go Karts and laser shooting while the younger ones can run of some energy on the play area or enjoy a ride on the bumper boats. The site is also home to Cornwall's largest Pitch and Put and a huge maze.

This haven for monkeys is located in beautiful woodland affording views over the gorgeous Cornish coast. There are 4 breeds of monkey cared for at the sanctuary, which has been open since 1964. The whole family will enjoy meeting the cheeky monkeys and the educational talks offer visitors the chance to learn about their natural habitat and the dangers they face in the wild. There is also a gift shop, café and picnic area.

Paradise Park first opened back in 1973 as a tropical bird garden and has since expanded to offer refuge to many different species of animal. The park aims to provide a fun and educational experience to its visitors and has daily talks and events to offer a more hands on approach. Playful otters, rare Cornish Chough, shy Red Pandas, and the beautiful native Red Squirrels can all be seen. There is also a fun farm area where younger children can get creative with crafting sessions during school holidays. The recent addition of the indoor Jungle Barn makes Paradise Park an excellent all weather attraction.

This amazing family day out has it all.  From thrilling rides for kids and adults alike, as well as award winning gardens to stroll around this is one experience not to be missed.  Some of the highlights include the Wildlife Experience Animal Show and the undercover re-creation of a World War II blitzed street.  Open most of the year this is an all weather choice with plenty of indoor options for rainy days. You will find the Flambards Experience in Helston Cornwall.

We have selected this attraction as one of our favourites in the Cornwall region as it appeals to children of all ages.  You can really get a hands on experience at this farm with the opportunity to stroke, feed, cuddle and learn about the animals.  Located in Newquay in Cornwall this Farm is easily accessible and well worth a visit.

The Eden Project is a must visit attraction while in Cornwall offering a unique and educational as well as fun experience. While exploring this greenhouse - the largest in the world, visitors will take in some amazing sights and sounds as well as smells of the jungle. The green house has areas dedicated to Malaysia, West Africa and South America. There is also a magical Warm Temperate Biome housing plants from the Mediterranean, South Africa and California. As well as the exotic and the strange visitors also get the chance to learn about the plants and trees we see every day in the UK.  Throughout the year activities are also available onsite and this year they have included an exhilarating 450m zip wire ride! This is not usually our kind of holiday, but it was great! The staff were lovely and helpful and I can't praise Ash and Kirstie enough for entertaining our son and the other children. They were amazing. Will definitely be returning - in fact we have rebooked for two weeks in Easter 😊
Great place for a holiday, the beach is outstanding and the caravan was comfortable for the six of us but the food in the clubhouse was first class, we were going to eat out one night but never did.
