Fun Days Out in Pembrokeshire

Treasure Island Fun Centre

Located in Anglesey in the North of Wales this has to be one of our favourite attractions in the area.  The maze of ramps, slides and tubes will keep the little ones entertained and allow to them to run off their excess energy.  For kids aged 1 to 10 we highly recommend this place.

Penrhyn Castle

Situated in the Gwynedd area of Wales this neo-Norman castle is well worth a visit.  Full of historic and fascinating objects this Castle will appeal to many.  Some of the highlights include the amazing collection of paintings, The Victorian Kitchen, the Servants Rooms, the one ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria and the mock Norman furniture.

Dinosaur Park

This is a popular theme park for kids of all ages where you can follow Dinosaur Trails, play on the adventure playgrounds and on rainy days head for the indoor play den.  You will find this attraction in the Tenby area of Mid Wales and we think it's great value for money.  If you fancy a snack while you are there then the Dinosaur Restaurant and Picnic Area are on hand.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you like gardens then this place is sure to appeal.  With some of the most rare plants in the country and even in the world your visit will help to protect some of these species.  Attractions within the Botanic Garden include a mini farm, discovery centre, adventure zone and bee garden.  Located in the Llanarthne area of Mid Wales this place is easily accessible from many of the holiday parks in the area.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is the premier family fun park in Wales and has lots to offer for adults and children alike. Within the park are amazing Treetop Towers, exciting Jungle Boats and a mysterious Crocodile Maze. Fun activities are plentiful including Archery, Stilt Walking and even the very unusual Den Building activity. New for 2010 is Little Forest Play Barn which is the perfect place for the little ones to run around and is also handy if the weather is not great. Don't miss the amazing shows at the outdoor Forest Theatre which include magic shows, and pirate experiences.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Welsh Mountain Zoo is situated above Colwyn Bay offering stunning views and amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a relaxing day out with the kids. The beautiful gardens are home to many species of animals including some rare and endangered species. This Zoo is very much a conservation programme and educational talks are given regularly. Highlights include Sealions Rock, The Penguin Playtime show and the Chimp Encounter.

Glasfryn Activity Parc

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.

Rhondda Heritage Park

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Caravan was lovely, we were thrilled, although I thought it was a little expensive. If anything the website undersold the facilities, eg we didn't know we had a dishwasher & it would be good to know that a few basic items are provided, eg washing up liquid, two toilet rolls etc. The quality of the furnishings throughout was very good & comfortable, especially the beds. Excellent shower, plenty of hot water, gas central heating.

We had a very nice holiday and liked the caravan very much. We had a very friendly lady at the reception. We would have liked to have a restaurant at the site or a pub with Bar meals.
But overall very good.

It was very relaxing and comfy a very enjoyable week away

This caravan was comfy and warm. It had everything we needed and was spotless, It was very clean. The floors when we arrived were very slippy (my son took off his shoes at the door and went to look around, slipped and banged his head). It was like they had been cleaned with the wrong product but once I wiped them they were fine.
The small room for the children seemed smaller than the picture as two small single beds. The mattresses were not the most comfortable we have slept on.
On the final day we woke up to the boiler saying error and it was cold. We were able to sort it out eventually but a note with what to do on checkin would be helpful.
Overall a very good stay, we found it to be quiet and just what we needed. In a very good location for days out. We would return again.
Take towels as not included.

The location and accommodation was good, but the Facilities out of season was poor.
Wonderful week caravan was excellent until Friday night when a family who were staying in a Pod close by kept us awake until 1.00 am. I reported the incident to reception on our departure. Do Pods and caravans mix?
A lovely quiet location well equipt caravan. Coffee tea and milk on arrival
Lovely caravan on a nice, clean site.
Caravan was lovely. Couldn't have asked for more. The park is nice and quiet very enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Very nice park, clean & well maintained. Felt we had plenty of space around the caravan. Nice area for the kids to run around. The bins were a bit of an eyesore & there are not enough large bins to take all the rubbish.
Plesent clean and tidy nice site in nice surrounding
We had a very nice holiday and its not to far from the tourist attractions. We had a very friendly welcome from the reception. The caravan was very clean and comfortable with central heating. Just a pity that there is no restaurant, but we were very pleased with our stay.
It was enjoyable and relaxing the staff were always there to help it was a nice caravan and comfy beds have not taken any photos of the park
Checkin was 4pm and we got there at 5.30. The reception was all locked up, the bar next door was open so it was not a problem. A note on the door explaining to go to the bar would of been helpful and to be open a bit longer for checkin. The children's park could do with an upgrade but my two at 4 and 6 did not seem to mind.
Camp was lovely and very clean. All staff were very friendly and helpful. It would have been nice to have a small shop for necessities e.g milk, bread morning papers. Would definitely stay there again
