This particular chalet needed some tlc, the blinds were mucky and the roller mechanisms were missing in some of them, the light fittings in the lounge had all the covers missing, there was cobwebs on the walls, the curtain tie back was broken & there was sellotape on the curtain presumably where someone had tried to stick it back to the wall so you could see more of the view! The shower was pathetic and the shower doors didn’t close properly

We arrived at the park at 5pm, the check in time stated on our booking. The reception was closed, after several attempts to call the “emergency number” a lady finally answered and gave directions to our lodge. As a family we had mixed feelings about the lodge, it was lovely but lots of little bits let it down. Previous tenants dog poo left in the private garden area, fire pit was left with previous tenants burnt out logs and rubbish and we had to clean it out ourselves to be able to use it. The beds are awful, plastic mattresses with one flat sheet over the top which comes off with the slightest movement, leaving you sleeping on plastic or constantly fixing the sheet. The bathroom could do with a bit of a refurb, and the black mould removing from around the shower etc. The kitchen was well equipped had everything you needed, although there is no oven , it’s just a microwave. The knives were awful, the handles fell off easily and they were extremely blunt, so not much use at all. The whole park felt half done, building materials laying around, waste water pumps just sat on the grass area with sewage next to them. The enchanted forest has so much potential to be lovely but again, wires hanging down posts, materials on the floor, abandoned Santas grotto (I think that’s what it looked like). I’m sure it’s not something that would happen again but on our second day the maintenance team decided to light a huge bonfire less than 100 meters from our lodge. Within minutes of it being lit, our whole lodge was full of smoke as we had the doors open. You definitely could not sit outside in the hot tub or use the outdoor space. We had to take the children out and go for a walk, at which point we did complain to reception. A lovely gentleman ensured the fire was put out quickly and then brought us some chocolates to say sorry, which was nice of him. Despite all the little bits which let it down we had a lovely stay. The whole place has so much potential but it just felt unloved.

Hot Tub, was as it says, Hot... this also had chemicals added on day 2. The sauce around the Hot tub was good and private

The log cabin we'd booked did not match the image as advertised. The door lock was not very convenient. the cabin itself was dirty inside (dog hairs on the sofa, dead flies on the windowsill). Wifi was terrible and the hot tub took almost 24 hours to heat up. This was in my opinion not at all value for money, considering i paid almost £400 for a two night stay. Apologies for these complaints being so late but I have only just come across the review/feedback email.

Amazing accommodation well.decorated and facilities had everything we needed in the lodge. Fairly clean the only comment was the shower was very limescale and the mirror very dusty other than that beautifully clean

Had a lovely stay, accommodation has everything you need for you stay. Just if the weather is hot would advise taking a fan with you.

Quiet retreat. Bar and restaurant not open on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. We were only there Sun to Tues so can’t review those. Should’ve mentioned this on the website

Not the equipment expected. Description misleading (was expected a hot tub and they were none)We had to fix few things in the house (table foot going loose, curtain falling, shower..)Mattress quality was poor (gives us back pain after 2 days).Nothing to hang the towel in the bathroom. I almost hurt my head with the wardrobe around the bed (some very sharp corner very low level).Finally lack of intimacy if you don’t close the curtain you feel very exposed. Not worth the money.

No Hot tub as advertised just outdoor sauna and tin bath with cold water and no drainage / no light in main bedroom /lack of mirrors only one in bath room so cant do hair no hair dryer / shower door would not stay closed / very clean / nice bed and bedding / well equipped / Wifi and little slow and unreliable /Jacs very good !!

Spruce was an amazing lodge with a breathtaking view of the lake. Kids had a great time and loved their cosy rooms. Only negative is the sofas were not comfortable at all but it's not an issue as we spent more time in the hot tub! Amazing little break at Woodlakes. Would recommend and definitely return.

Pleasant lodge, good size for a small family. Lovely clean hot tubClean but needs attention to detail.Downsides - Sofas desperately need replacing, as you fall through them. It definitely needs new mattress’s throughout the property as you mat aswell of slept on the wood. Lamps in the lounge would be a great touch as otherwise in the evening your sat in a goldfish bowl.

Good place to stay hot tub needs roof so can sit in even when raining bar was more for dinning that for people to have a pint and chill

We loved the location, lodge was overlooking the lake for fishing great for husband and for me relaxing in the hot tub on the decking. It was very peaceful and lovely to walk around the site, lots of wildlife. We did go to one of the site restaurants Jacks fantastic meal :o) The lodge was nice some of the furniture probably needs to be updated, work has started as shower room appeared to be new. Would definitely like to go again!

Lodge was dirty, ill equipped & very basic, website advertised it as “luxury boutique lodge” in which I paid “boutique money” it was anything bu. Only thing that was lovely was the stunning view. luckily the weather was joyous & spent most of our time outside of the lodge.

Lodge was way below standard very basic and unwelcoming Broken beds, worn out sofa’s, broken blinds Dining insufficient only 4 chairs Outside dining cheap and nasty General bits and bobs either cheap or missing One small Tv in lounge area with poor reception Poor to non existent WIFI No Mobile signal No welcome pack or little quirks like flowers to brighten the welcome Area was fantastic and Jack’s restaurant was fab To top it off we were welcomed by a large dog poo in the area where a hot tub would be Will not be going back

Awesome location nice friendly staff Fantastic accommodation however a few minor problems with the fittings but not enough to complain about It would be nicer if there was more to do for the kids like a games room Overall excellent 10/10

Booked a new lodge, given the keys and went inside then told it wasn’t quite ready and had to move to a different lodge The new lodge we were first offered was a much smaller pod with children’s beds which wouldn’t work for a 15 and 19 year old, so asked to stay somewhere else. We were then moved into a XL lodge they weren’t renting out as it was being renovated and had no hot tub. We stayed here for one night and then moved to our final lodge which had 2 rooms, a hot tub and large living space. The facilities on the park in theory were perfect however we found the Thai restaurant and Jacks restaurant were too expensive as well as the cafe not being open and the enchanted forest just sitting there with no option to properly use it we were slightly disappointed. All the staff were incredible and very helpful even if they didn’t fully know what was going on. Overall we enjoyed our stay, there was plenty to do nearby and the wood and lakes are beautiful.
