Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful & serene.Clean & comfortable with everything you need. I wouldn’t book the Hollies at peak times due to the playing field being so close. Thankfully mid March wasn’t an issue. Plenty to do within a short drive. Lake Vyrnwy & Powis Castle definitely highlights. The Nags Head Inn nearby great for a drink & food in the sun.

Nice place cottage nice

I have stayed here a few times in different lodges and have enjoyed every stay.

We liked the lodge, it had everything we needed in there, and the outdoor area was secure, which is great when the accomodation allows pets, we always felt our dog was secure. It had a lovely rustic feel, and was an actual lodge, with lots of wooden fixtures.The fixtures were a little dated, and probably are due an update, but overall we were happy. One thing to be aware of is that it is advertised as having a bathroom and bedroom with an en-suite. The en-suite is just a shower behind a curtain in one of the bedrooms, which was a bit strange, meaning there was only one toilet in the main bathroom. Not a massive issue, just something to be aware of.Overall we were happy with the accomodation, and would come again. A bit of an update to some fixtures and it would be perfect.

Lovely relaxing time

Hot tub evening were so relaxing overlooking the golf course. Great location. Everything we needed was in the lodge, even some dvds and games which was a great touch.

No fence around the lodge so the dog got out we have to go and get him some time. the dog love his holiday ????????

As per previous written review.PositivesBeautiful location Hot tubChildren’s playground Negatives Mattresses on beds need replacing. Three of our party complained about them and decided that head home on the Sunday evening rather than stay another night. Whilst accepting it will never be like your own bed you do expect to be reasonably comfortable whilst you are away, especially when you pay decent money.This and this alone would stop us from making a return visit.

5* stay at the lodge!The surroundings are incredibly beautiful, staff are more than friendly. There was a power cut on our first morning and Emma couldn’t do more to keep us informed throughout the morning. The Cabin itself is divine- the kitchen has full cooker, toaster, big fridge and freezer, kettle and kitted out with all cutlery etc. It would be nice to have a hairdryer- as you’re in the hot tub multiple times a day towel drying is a bit of a chore (after the rinse shower)- I would also like to have somewhere to dry multiple towels/swim shorts as the one radiator in the bathroom isn’t enough and all other radiators can’t be covered.Overall incredible stay- booking again!

Lovely cosy lodge with everything you need

The cottage has a nice homely feel to it , lovely gas fire in the main room to keep warm. The cottage has all the amenities you need. The hot tub was nice and clean. The cottage has its own drive with a full surrounding fence around the property making it ideal for dog owners.

Absolutely beautiful place with stunning views. The cottage is so homely and has everything you need. The staff are fantastic and really can’t do enough for you. I will definitely be back.Thankyou for a lovely stay :)

Excellent, views amazing, very clean, staff very helpful, have stayed in the mountain lodge 4 times this year, and have already booked 3 lodges to return with family and friends, would highly recommend

We had an amazing time seen the new year in with friends couldn't fault anything amazing staff came everyday to check hot tuband lovely in reception will definitely be booking again.

We had a wonderful Christmas at the Lodges, they even had a Christmas tree up and decorated for us. Really special.

Absolutely perfect, have stayed in this lodge two years running. Cosy and warm with lots of wildlife. Will be back next year.

6 of in Squirrels Drew last weekend - the cabin was amazing and the story about how it originated was amazing left us all a bit emotional - possibly the gin though ? the surroundings are magical - the hot tub wow ?? The staff - well what can I say ????? Over and above ?? A beautiful place to go to and be at peace - please if you get the chance to visit grab it - perfect retreat - thanks y'all for everything x

2nd visit absolutely perfect like last time

Amazing third year in a row we have been gutted we can’t make it next year but will definitely book again.

A beautiful and peaceful location, lodge had everything we needed and had a wonderful relaxed break. Only 1 thing to note accessibility the lodges are spaced around a very steep and windy road.

This was our fifth visit to Penllwyn Lodges. Its a peaceful site with the lodges set in a wooded area. When we first visited years ago the fishing lake did have fish in it but in recent times this seems to have changed. I asked at reception about the fishing and was told they no longer advertise it as a fishing lake.

The most beautiful and idyllic place. I fist stayed here on a family holiday when I was 11, I am now 40 and still love this place!

The camp is beautiful, loved the way that the lodges were all far apart from each other.

Really enjoyable stay. Would return.

Perfect little cabins and beautiful Jacuzzis. Absolutely loved the area and the surrounding countryside - its outstanding!!!! Just bring your bug spray haha as it is in a woodland. Very slight noise from the road during the daytime but absolutely no complaints at all!

Equipment in the kitchen was a little limited but otherwise cabin was lovely. Very cosy. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
