A beautifully decorated, modern lodge with Hot tub. Well appointed on a very quiet site- No facilities.Lodge was spotlessly clean and beds comfortable. Fixtures and fitting were of a high standard and the lodge had most things we needed. Could use a better cheese grater( being totally picky) but otherwise perfect ???????? we will be booking again!

A Cozy Retreat in an Avon LodgeOur stay in the Avon lodge was delightful. The lodge was south facing, spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean, offering lovely views of the surrounding fields.The comfortable sofas, beds, and seating areas were perfect for our group of five. The heating system was easy to operate, ensuring a warm and cozy atmosphere throughout our November stay.Outside seating is available on the spacious deck adjacent to the private hot tub. The daily hot tub checks added an extra layer of peace of mind. The welcome book provided valuable information about the lodge and local attractions, making it easy to plan our days.

Lovely modern cabin, had everything we needed. Perfect location to small town with pubs and shops. Ideal for forest trails, walks and runs.

Hands down the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in ???? In summary: absolutely perfect and spotless holiday accommodation in a just as perfect location for any occasion. We have recently returned from a family October half term holiday at Forest Hill’s and all we can say is wow! The location is peaceful and secluded and the grounds are immaculate. With us being a family of 6 we stayed in a Wentwood lodge and were all hugely impressed the minute we walked through the door. The accomodation has everything you need - it’s cosy with its Hive controlled central heating, the bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms (effectively one for each room) are spotless each having a power shower. In particular as a family we loved the huge open-plan living area comprising kitchen, lounge and dining area because it allowed us to be all together cooking/playing games/watching movies simultaneously. The TV and soundbar with access to smart TV apps is huge and came in handy watching Halloween movies! The owners are fantastic - they knocked on the door when we first arrived to check we had settled in ok and had everything we needed and amazingly popped round with a huge tub of sweets on Halloween for the kids! Location wise Forest Hill’s is perfect for action packed family holidays like ours but likewise would be perfect for more serene and relaxed holidays with friends or a romantic getaway in the Forest of Dean. It is 5 minutes away from amazing nature in the Forest, breathtaking scenery at places like Symonds Yat and the slightly further afield but still close Brecon Beacons and the magic of Puzzlewood. For more urban experiences we visited both Bristol and Cardiff which are only about 20-30 minutes away. Thank you once again Forest Hill’s for such an incredible holiday and being a significant part in making beautiful family memories which will stick with us forever! Without a shadow of a doubt we will be back!

Amazing lodge. Very clean, large and modern. Has everything you will need, from central heating, en-suites, dishwasher, washer/dryer, hot-tub and of course a big tv, when you have just had enough of all the gorgeous countryside :-)

Excellent choice for us , plenty of places to see , or if you prefer to chill, the lodge with the hot tub was very appealing , we were a family from age 55 -83 so lovely to have the space to connect with each other but also room to be alone for awhile we definitely will be returning

It is a lovely place to take animals, the dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms because of the carpet. There are green areas outside to let them walk and the lodge is big enough for them to stay in and walk around comfortably. They even provided a dog bowl which was a lovely touch.

Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!

Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there hoRead morerses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend Hide
