Excellent place for romantic get away

Lovely log cabin, huge and modern. The best we’ve stayed in so far.

Beautiful lodge, very clean and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Hamper when we arrived filled with goodies. Beautiful surroundings. Very helpful and friendly staff. Hot tub was lovely in the evenings. And log fire for the colder nights just added to the experience. We will be returning guests for sure.

We had a lovely stay here, it has everything you could possibly need and more. Everything feels so new and up to date, the hot tub is amazing and the huge bath was a great addition. The interior design is great and all the small details like salt and pepper & extra dishwasher tablets make the difference compared to other places we’ve stayed at. I would come back in a heartbeat. The only downside was the WiFi was not working however the TV was already connected to another one so we had that atleast.

Great place and location better than advertised.Stafc are helpfully and friendly.Wild Boar park on site is excellent.

Good lodge, generally clean but the fridge hadn't been cleaned as it had pieces of pastry in it. One niggle was They had plug in air fresheners in the lodge and even though we unplugged them and put them in a cupboard the lodge smelled all week which isn't good if you are asthmatic.

The lodge was beautiful with added extras to help - cleaning products, tea, coffee - salt and pepper. It is a large lodge with lots of space and we had peacocks come to visit everyday.

The lodge itself was absolutely beautiful. We loved everything about it. The animal park was fabulous, we thoroughly enjoyed it and having access to it for the duration of our stay was an unexpected surprise. I would recommend everything about the animal park and lodge and the staff were fantastic too.

Lovely place to visit of you have a family who would like to visit the animal park at the bottom of the road. It is in a rural quiet area which suited us. Lodge was beautiful.

Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!

Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!

We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people.

Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurantRead mores. We liked The Star and The Maypole. Lovely friendly owners. Couldnt do enough when the power went down due to the storm. Very well equipped and clean. Very warm cottage. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed outside space and us the hot tub!

Perfect venue for a quiet break away. Sharon and Robert have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Although this was our second visit it definitely will not be our last.

A beautiful holiday home set in a lovely rural location. The slated courtyard was perfect and the hot-tub added to the luxury of the property. Great for country walks.

Fantastic clean place, nice and quiet, hosts are lovely and helpful, great place for couples, the hot tub is amazing, nice enclosed garden for pets.

wanted a dog walking break, absolutely perfect. quality accommodation, pubs and restaurants a 10 minute walk away, miles of fields and off road walks, the dog would not get in the car to come home.

The cottage was absolutely fabulous brilliant location really peaceful and relaxing the farm surrounding it was beautiful got to see the horses and the people who own it were really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet break

Very nice cottage. Ideal for a quiet break if you don't mind aeroplanes (at night mostly) as its quite near to Stanstead airport. Hot tub is lovely!
