Christine and Andrew provided the most relaxing, comfortable and clean lodges around.Their attention to detail cannot be surpassed.We had the most amazing time in The Retreat where even the odd days of rain felt totally acceptable.All local guides and tips were beautifully presented in a folder and each sheet was laminated so that they could be reviewed without any damage.The hot tub was amazing and the lodge was beautifully decorated which felt like a boutique holiday.We will definitely be back!

Very lovely Well appointed clean and fresh Well stocked cupboards with everything you would need for prep cooking and clearing up Toiletries in the bathroom were a welcome addition and we loved the view from the lodge

A lovely very large lodge, with hot tub, found it very comfortable, but found the hot tub had a strange design inside, but it may be we are too old now…. Like our tubs to have proper seats.

We had such a fantastic stay at the Rydal retreat. The lodge itself was absolutely beautiful and immaculate and the views are incredible! The hot tub after a day of walking up mountains was a massive treat. I cannot fault our stay. We had a lovely welcome package on arrival too. This was our first time at the Lake District and at Avon Wood and we loved it so much we have actually booked to stay here again in April. Albeit there isn’t much around unless you drive about 10 minutes, that’s just what we wanted. So much peace and quiet. Also, at the very bottom of the park you can access the lake from a little slipway it’s so sweet. Definitely take your kayaks with you. The hosts were wonderful. Highly Recommend Avon Wood. Absolutely beautiful lodge in an even more beautiful setting. Facilities were fantastic and not needing for anything. The welcome pint of milk was most appreciated for that first cuppa after a long drive. Christine was really helpful with all the pre-visit checks so we knew exactly what to take and what to leave behind. The spa was a first but lovely to slip in to at the end of a long day's walk. If there was any kind of downside it would be that you definitely need your car to get anywhere as there are no footpaths running past the site. We did manage a short walk around site but it was very short. Would go again and would recommend ????

This was a very relaxing holiday in a very luxurious lodge . It was equipped exceptionally well with everything you would need . The hot tub was lovely and the treats in the fridge a lovely touch . We have no negative things to say as it was a fantastic holiday and even the weather played ball .

The only thing that I would recommend is to have some mattress toppers available. The bed is quite firm (which is understandable).The location of the site is perfect for getting around the lakes.The welcome pack of prosecco and chocolates is a beautiful touch.

Can not fault this holiday in any way. The area is amazing and the accommodation was just as good.

Too far away from amenities .had to use our car every day just to get anywhere.

Back from another week at Avon Wood. We love visiting, this was our fourth time. As per previous visits, the lodge was spot on - all the equipment you can think of. Christine and Andrew are so helpful and kind. I would recommend Avon Wood to all. Thank you !

A wonderfully comfortable Lodge with everything needed.

Beautiful 3 bedroom lodge with direct view onto lake Windermere. A perfect getaway with an extremely well equipped lodge with all the everyday items you would have in your own home. It made our stay more comforting and relaxing. Would highly recommend and hope to be back soon.

Caravan had everything needed and was cosy and very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen utensils. Great shower.

A lovely quiet place to stay view over looking the lake. Only 5 mins drive to the main Bowness for boat trips shipping and sight seeing. We will definitely recommend this to anyone. The hot tub and terrace area is lovely with all mod cons inside. The owners were very thoughtful leaving gifts of milk, box of chocs, wine and Easter eggs on arrival which was lovely

Lovely lodge, well decorated and has everything you need. It's a quiet and peaceful location, perfect for unwinding, with an amazing view over the lake. Loved the welcome pack of Prosecco, chocolates along with the selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and milk for a needed drink I would highly recommend both the park and this lodge and we will definitely be going back in the future.

This is a lovely Lodge in a truly beautiful location. We enjoyed a very friendly welcome, and are only sorry that illness meant we had to leave early. Would recommend without hesitation.

One word Excellent

Having stayed before there is little more to add. It still remains a fantastic place to stay on a very well run site. As usual it was immaculate on arrival. So far we have never bettered it anywhere and we suspect this will remain the case.

We have just spent the most amazing week at Blakeholme lodge. We have been to Avon wood before and couldn’t wait to go back again, such a comfortable, beautiful and very very clean lodge! The owners are helpful and always around the park if you need them. The area around the lodge is lovely to walk around even if you don’t fancy venturing out any day, I really enjoyed taking my children down by the water just to relax :)

Excellent everything thought of never wanted for anything, a lovely welcome pack which was a nice surprise and set of the holiday. Good location close enough to get a taxi. Would highly recommend.
