Discover Steeple Bay and escape to a wonderful, waterside retreat.

Situated on the coast near Southminster, the park is the hidden treasure of the South East of England, with ready access to the Mayland Creek.

If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway for all the family then Steeple Bay is the right place to be.

Choose to spend time in our Riverside bar or take a dip in the heated outdoor swimming pool, while the kids have fun around the park with Loopy and his friends.

Or take to the nearby waters; you don’t have to be an active boatman to enjoy the location though, just watching the boats and yachts go by is the perfect therapy for todays stressful lifestyle.

The park boasts great facilities including a well-stocked fishing lake (with day tickets available from reception), an adventure playground and an amusement arcade.

Along with our leisure pool there is also a paddling pool for our very youngest guests.

Visit the clubhouse to round off a perfect day with tasty food and drink available, along with live music and top shows during busier periods.

The medieval town of Maldon is nearby with lots of shops and great restaurants to discover (Thursdays and Saturdays are best as they are market days).

Other "must-see" Essex attractions worth jumping in the car for, include Adventure Island, Chelmsford Miniature Railway, Colchester Zoo nd the famous pier at Clacton-on-Sea.

Or just revel in the majesty of the park surroundings; Steeple Bay Holiday Park sits along the banks of the Blackwater Estuary with beautiful unspoiled views across the water and, if you are lucky the sight of seals that are frequent visitors to the area.

The seals love the area, and in all likelihood so will you!

Just got back and really cant fault it. As a family of 4 we found loads to do and the kids made some good friends. Nice clean site and lovely area. Overall very good and we will probably go back.

We really enjoyed our holiday, though having a proper outdoor seating area would’ve been a bonus.

Really enjoyed our day out, though the weather could have been better!

We stayed in a lovely caravan that really looked the partand the surrounding area was quite peaceful, even if the site was a bit tucked away. We arrived early, about an hour and a half before check-inand were told by a young receptionist in a pretty dismissive tone to come back around 3 pm, though we could at least use the facilities. Off we went to the clubhouse where we noticed a big menu on the wall near the bar. When we went over to check it out, a member of staff barked at us that the menu wasn’t available yet and to just look at the one on our table. Felt a bit like being schoolkids again! Anyway, we ordered a chicken burger with chips and a Pepsi. The chips were actually quite nice, but the chicken in the burger was pretty 'pretendy' and the stale bun didn’t help. The Pepsi was flat and tasted odd, served in glasses that didn’t seem very clean. After the meal, we headed to the toilets. Honestly, the smell of cannabis was everywhere - both in the ladies’ and gents’ loos - it was quite overpowering. When 3 o’clock finally rolled around, we checked back at reception to see if we could check in. The outside patio area was also thick with the smell of cannabis. When we finally got into our van, my girlfriend slipped on the uneven flagstones at the bottom of the steps, hurting her wrist and shoulder. I called receptionand to their credit, they sent maintenance straight away. They said they’d cut some new stones and fix it, but nothing ever happened. As for the nights - both Friday and Saturday - there were loud parties in caravans nearby that kept us awake until the early hours. The caravan itself was lovelyand the area around it was really nice, but unfortunately, the site and staff left a lot to be desired. Not quite what we expected, really!

We had a pretty decent stay overall. The caravan was spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious, which was a relief. The kids loved the playground - they had a blast out there! The reception team were super friendly and really helpful whenever we needed anything. Sadly, the kids’ entertainment was a bit of a disappointment; none of the activities listed in the leaflet actually took place, which was a bit of a let down. Luckily, we found a great soft play in Maldon called Maddison Heights, just about ten miles awayand there’s plenty of shops and stuff to do nearby. I reckon it’s probably even better in the summer - we’d definitely consider coming back!

Beds are pretty tight, but I get it’s because of limited space, unfortunately.

We chose a lower rated caravan and it was alright for us. It was a bit grubby in places and there were dog hairs, but we didn’t mind giving it a quick clean when we arrived since the holiday was such a good price.

This place is in a remote location, but there’s so much to do! It can get pretty busy and noisy on the weekend, though. The site offers loads of facilities, which is great. Just a heads-up about the single track road leading to the site; it has high hedges and visibility isn’t the best.

We didn't have any issues with the site, but we found the area a bit boring. Maybe we just didn't explore enough!

We’ll definitely be coming back! It's a great park with plenty of space to wander around. The atmosphere is lovely and really makes you feel relaxed. The facilities are decent tooand the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, a really nice spot that we can't wait to revisit!

Steeple Bay ticks all the boxes for us during the four nights we stayed there! The location is brilliant for relaxing walks by the river, plus there are loads of interesting places to visit. It’s also perfect for a quick day trip to France for some shoppingand we really appreciated being able to do the whole journey via the tunnel in daylight. The Magnum Silver caravans are more than adequate for the short time we spend in them.
Emma, Cleethorpes
Date of stay: 14th June 2014
Overall, the holiday was good! We got upgraded to silver plus and the staff were excellent. I would just say the park is pretty isolated down a country lane. The club was okay too and the pool area was very nice.
Emily, Camberley, Surrey
Date of stay: 31st May 2014
The accommodation was well presented and tidy. The furnishings were good too. However, it would have been helpful if the kids' entertainment matched what was described in the brochure. The kids never got to meet Loopy because the adult entertainment seemed to be given priority. Also, the carpet in the bar had a heavy smell of cigarettesand the bar environment could definitely be better for kids too! We hoped for more balance here.
Michael
great relaxing very friendly staff. This is our 5th time traveling from Birmingham.

Wonderful staff, so kind and nothing too much trouble. Great team .loved the pool and estuary
