Visitor Reviews of Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park

Date of stay: 11th May 2025
We had such a lovely, relaxing break despite the rain pouring most of the week. The lodge was spotless and felt really homely, which we loved. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus, really made our stay special. It’d be even better with WiFi, but honestly, we’re already planning to return soon! Great area, peaceful with lovely views. Highly recommend!

We loved the peaceful vibe of the lodge, with stunning views over the cows. The walks right outside were perfect. It was super plush, but a bit of a privacy blind in the kitchen would help. Also, the toilet brushes could do with an upgrade. Still, a lovely stay overall!

We had a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon put so much effort into preserving the historic charm of the building and it shows. They were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived and Bonnie was adorable. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering through charming villages like Thaxted. It’s a peaceful spot with everything you need for a relaxed break. Highly recommend!

We’ve stayed in quite a few lodges, including Flusco Wood and Westlands Country Park, but this place really stood out. The welcome basket with local goodies was a lovely touch. The kitchen is massive and the lounge and dining area are super comfy. The kids’ room was bigger than what we’ve seen elsewhere and the hot tub, cleaned daily, was a real highlight. Overall, a fantastic stay!

This cottage is just what we needed-peaceful and tucked away but still near the shops and local spots. The hot tub is fantastic and the underfloor heating kept us cosy all weekend. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel right at home. Already planning our return!

We stayed at this lovely park and lodge recently and overall, it was a pretty good experience. Arriving late on a Monday night, we did find it a bit tricky to figure out how to get in at first, but that was sorted quickly enough. It would’ve been helpful if the booking system allowed us to specify our expected arrival time, though. The only real downside was the bathroom vents rattling all night due to the wind, which disturbed the peace. Still, a really nice spot, close to Hexham and other lovely places - definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic week here from the 15th to 22nd July with our two tiny dachshunds and they absolutely loved it! They made lots of new friends in the charming village of Thaxted. The cottage itself is really lovely and the hot tub was a real treat - especially since it was the hottest weather we’ve had all year, so cooling it down made it so much more enjoyable. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and it was lovely to see their dogs being taken to the fields daily. Also, watching the planes land near Stansted was pretty cool! Definitely a place we’d come back to.

From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and adorable Bonnie made us feel so welcome. They've clearly put a lot of thought into restoring this historic place with care and respect. The location in Essex is perfect for exploring charming villages like Thaxted, which is full of interesting sights and lovely architecture. Goddard's Mead truly offers a cosy, relaxing stay with all the comforts you need. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and explore the area!

We had an awesome week at this lodge! The place was spotless and well-equipped, everything we needed was there. The staff were super friendly and really helpful, which made a big difference. Our spa lodge was just perfect-such a nice view and a great spot to relax. Also, they went above and beyond by posting back something we left behind. Definitely a fantastic stay and a great base for exploring the town. Would recommend!

The cottage was quite charming, perfect for a peaceful escape. Just a heads up, planes fly overhead at night since it's close to Stansted. The hot tub was a real treat!

We recently stayed at this lovely lodge and honestly, it ticked most boxes for us. The place was really spacious and super comfy, with soft beds and sofas perfect for relaxing after a day out. It had everything we needed for a week’s getaway for three adults and our dog, which was great. Booking a Tesco delivery was straightforward enough, so no hassle there. We got really lucky with the weather in October and the patio furniture on the huge decking area was just perfect for soaking up the sun with those incredible views. The hot tub was a real treat-really well maintained and lovely to unwind in. The only thing was, since the decking is fully enclosed, the hot tub guys had to walk through the lodge to check on it. They said they come daily between 9 and 10, but we only saw them once, on the Saturday. We were there from Monday to Monday, so it was a bit frustrating waiting around for them when we could’ve been enjoying breakfast or the hot tub. Still, we’re seasoned lodge lovers and this one’s definitely in our top 3!

We stayed in this really well-equipped house and it was perfect for a cosy December getaway. The place was warm and inviting, especially on a rainy day! The bath was fantastic and the shower was big enough to relax in. Being near the flight path didn’t bother us at all and it’s ideal for dogs scared of fireworks since it's so remote. Thanks a lot for a lovely stay!

Doris
Lovely area to explore very enjoyable holiday.
Jonathan
ticked all the boxes for us. Lovely field view from our balcony, enjoyed the wild life, glorious sunsets, hot tub. happy to stay here, relaxing, quiet. but if want bit more then, 5/10 mins from Hexham town centre, shops, takeaways etc. 10 mins from A66, 30-45 mins into Newcastle and other places on Northeast coast. Accommodation was clean, almost new, light and airy. bed comfortable, 2 bathrooms meant no waiting .. . . . . . . . . .
Carine
Location was perfect as a base for our holiday. Nice and quiet park
