The lodge was really lovely and well kitted out. The hot tub was brilliant, perfect spot for unwinding. The bed was a bit firm, but overall, great stay!

We had an awesome weekend here! The lodge was spotless and spacious, perfect for relaxing. Fully equipped kitchen made things easy and the location was great-close to pubs, a spar and Roseberry Topping nearby. Definitely recommend!

The micro lodge was surprisingly spacious and had stunning views. It’s such a peaceful spot, we didn't want to leave! Already planning our next trip, definitely our go-to place in the area.

The place was really roomy and comfy, with sleek, modern decor all around. Having both an en-suite and family bathroom was a real bonus! We loved it.

Honestly, the place was just covered in flies. I had to hang four fly strips and they were all packed with around twenty bugs each. Not great at all.

It would've been great if free WiFi was available. My daughter ran out of data and wasn’t too pleased, though we knew they didn’t offer WiFi beforehand. Still, decent overall.

Not worth the money at all

Honestly, we won’t be coming back here. When we arrived, there was no one around - just one warden who we saw once and the whole place looked pretty run down. We checked into the Swaledale lodge and at first, it seemed okay, but then we noticed the flies - everywhere! They were all over the sofa, around the extractor fan, on the curtains and even in the bedrooms. It was pretty revolting. We tried to stay positive, killed as many as we could and kept the windows and doors shut, but they kept finding their way back inside. Opening anything just let more in and the smoke alarm kept going off whenever we cooked because of the swarm. We mentioned it to the warden, who said it was because we were near a farmer’s field - but come on, it’s November! That explanation just didn’t hold water. They gave us fly spray, but honestly, it didn’t do much. The hot tub was another letdown - murky water and bubbles that didn’t really work, so it just felt grimy. The decking was constantly wet, green, slimy and super slippery - a real hazard, especially for kids. We didn’t expect to have to keep our drinks and food covered the entire time just to keep the flies away - there were THAT many. The only decent bits were the comfy beds and good TV signal. But honestly, between the flies, the unhygienic hot tub and the slippery decking, it’s a real shame. If it weren’t for those issues, maybe our stay would’ve been better. We’ve read similar complaints in reviews since we left, which makes us wonder why nothing has been sorted yet. Definitely not what we hoped for.

Honestly, we were really disappointed with our stay. The photos on the website made it look lovely, but in reality, the place was quite grimy - cobwebs, dead flies and brown marks on the walls. The bed sheets kept slipping off the mattress and it wasn’t comfortable at all. The sofa bed was dreadful, full of crumbs, dust and dirt, which was pretty grim. Cooking was a nightmare because there was no chopping board or proper utensils. The place definitely needs some serious cleaning and attention to detail. On the bright side, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the surroundings were stunning with incredible views. Still, we had to cut our stay short because we just couldn’t face another night in those beds!

We recently stayed at Coverdale Lodge and from the moment we arrived, we felt really welcomed. The place was spotless-honestly one of the cleanest spots we've ever stayed in. The hot tub was a bit cosy for two, but just right for us to relax. The location is peaceful and quiet, with Stokesley just a quick five-minute drive away, which is such a lovely little town. There’s plenty to explore nearby, though it’s worth noting that nothing’s really walkable from the park itself. We’d definitely recommend it and would love to come back. Only slight hiccup was the flies-had a few buzzing around, which was a bit annoying, but not a big deal. Considering it was November and we didn’t have doors or windows open, it was a bit odd. Still, overall a great stay!

Date of stay: 27th March 2024
Honestly, we struggled to get a taxi from that spot, so grabbing a drink at a nearby pub isn’t really an option. The hot tub wasn’t topped up daily like promised, even after we messaged the owner who said he’d be there - but he never showed. Stains on the bedding too, so we just brought our own. Won’t be coming back or recommending this place.

We really enjoyed our stay overall, even if some things felt a bit old-fashioned. The hosts were super friendly and took the time to give us a proper tour. The hot tub was cosy, but a tad small for three and a few niggles like the shower draining slowly and the leaky extractor fan didn’t ruin it. Would stay again!

The place was pretty grim. Utensils were scarce and the hot tub’s lid was all mouldy and ripped, with bits floating around-totally unusable. The water reeked, honestly, it was just gross.

We've noticed lots of flies in various reviews, which is quite frustrating. Hopefully, they’ll do something about it to make stays more enjoyable. Fingers crossed!

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge, it was spacious and had everything we needed. The hot tub was definitely a highlight! The only downside was the fridge, which smelled pretty awful-like cheese or milk gone off. With the warm weather that week, it made things worse. Still, overall, we had a great time and would go back!
Alex
Such a lovely little holiday park. It was perfect for our few nights away, in a peaceful area and no noise from other cabins due to the space between them.
Gregg
Perfect safe place staff were really friendly and so helpful. The site and lodge was clean and quiet. Great place to rest and then travel out to nearby villages and Whitby beach. Definitely recommend
Jo
We had a fabulous mini break here last weekend. We loved the location and the hot tub. Nice and relaxing and not too busy. Lodges have a good amount of space between them. Would definitely like to return.
Muneer
Very nice mini lodge. Just some small things like no mirror in bathroom.
Coiln
we enjoyed our break the only thing i would say is the sofa is really uncomfortable to sit on if you want to watch TV on an evening and there was only 1 chair on the decking with the table so if there is 2 of you that is not much good but other than that it was a lovely break we only saw a staff member once but kerry was always on the end of a text message if needed.
