Fun Days Out in Cumbria & The Lakes

Lake District Wildlife Park

Both children and adults will enjoy a day out here where you can see over 100 species of animals including Zebras and Antelope.  At set times you can go an see Birds of Prey flying displays as well as Zoo Keeper Presentations which are educational as well as fun. If the weather is not on your side then you can make the most of the indoor heated play area and modern cafe.  Located at Coalbeck Farm in Cumbria we think this is a must for families...

Ullswater Steamers

A trip to Cumbria wouldn't be complete without a cruise on the lake and what better way to do this than on an Ullswater Steamer.  Ullswater is widely regarded as the most beautiful of all of the lakes in the area.  This award winning attraction has been in business for 150 years and currently has four vessels operating Ullswater lake cruises.  A further option is to combine a lake cruise with some of the most breathtaking walks in the area.

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery

Described as the number one attraction in Carlisle this place makes a fantastic day out for all the family.  Suitable for all weathers you can take in interesting exhibitions and enjoy interactive fun.  Lookout for special events which take place at various times of year such as Easter weekend and summer holidays. Open daily all year round.

Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis
Lakeland's Wildlife Discovery Centre is the perfect place for a fun day out which is also educational. The unique centre offers visitors the chance to explore many species of exotic wildlife through interactive 'hands-on' displays. These clever displays travel through 3,000 million years of evolution from the development of life on Earth. The centre is home to some of the world's most threatened species and plays an important role in international breeding.

Stanwix Park Reviews

Isobel Donoghue
This was our second holiday to the park and I was a bit worried that returning would be a disapointment, but we had a perfect time again! It an excellent value family site. We love the swimming pool and the children's entertainment in the evenings. We stayed in the apartments which are clean and well equiped. We hope to return soon!

Had a brilliant time
Brilliant family holiday park with plenty to do for all ages. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable with sweets and treats at pocket money prices ie they’re not over inflated. We know we will head back here for another family break. Please note there’s no large town facilities nearby. If this is what you’re looking for then you may wish to reconsider your destination.
Enjoyed all part of the holiday. Did think the bowling was included in the pass so maybe this needs to be a bit more clear. Swimming pool was very good!
Great holiday, spotlessly clean van, staff were brilliant. The cafe does not offer much and there aren’t many local child friendly restaurants locally. Would definitely recommend for a short on site break
Had a fabulous time.
had a fantastic time caravan in very good condition facilities and attitude of staff excellent
Fabulous pool which we used twice a day my children loved it. we have re booked for the summer
Perfect for a quiet family holiday. Amazing entertainment. Peaceful location.
Great site and location
Park is lovely clean has lots to do, area is very isolated. But you can’t fault the park itself and the staff, I would visit again.
Had a great holiday
