Maesmawr Farm Resort is a friendly and welcoming holiday park in the delightful Powys area in Mid Wales.  An added bonus is that the park is in walking distance of the local village called Caersws which has 3 pubs as well as some local shops and fish and chips.

The park itself has a relaxing feel and is family run with amazing panoramic views of the rolling hills.  You'll have a choice of accommodation from the Valley Views Lodges to the Hills View Caravans.  The caravans are excellent value with one double and one twin bedroom.  The spacious lodges are a more luxurious option with private outdoor hot tubs.  You can book lodges sleeping 4 or 6.

Maesmawr Farm Resort is also on a National Cycling Route and you'll find the area perfect for walking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits.  Days out in this area might include a trip to Powis Castle which is a fantastic medieval fortress, or a relaxing outing to the Victorian spa town of LLandrindod Wells.

Fun Days Out in Powys

Treasure Island Fun Centre

Located in Anglesey in the North of Wales this has to be one of our favourite attractions in the area.  The maze of ramps, slides and tubes will keep the little ones entertained and allow to them to run off their excess energy.  For kids aged 1 to 10 we highly recommend this place.

Penrhyn Castle

Situated in the Gwynedd area of Wales this neo-Norman castle is well worth a visit.  Full of historic and fascinating objects this Castle will appeal to many.  Some of the highlights include the amazing collection of paintings, The Victorian Kitchen, the Servants Rooms, the one ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria and the mock Norman furniture.

Dinosaur Park

This is a popular theme park for kids of all ages where you can follow Dinosaur Trails, play on the adventure playgrounds and on rainy days head for the indoor play den.  You will find this attraction in the Tenby area of Mid Wales and we think it's great value for money.  If you fancy a snack while you are there then the Dinosaur Restaurant and Picnic Area are on hand.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you like gardens then this place is sure to appeal.  With some of the most rare plants in the country and even in the world your visit will help to protect some of these species.  Attractions within the Botanic Garden include a mini farm, discovery centre, adventure zone and bee garden.  Located in the Llanarthne area of Mid Wales this place is easily accessible from many of the holiday parks in the area.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is the premier family fun park in Wales and has lots to offer for adults and children alike. Within the park are amazing Treetop Towers, exciting Jungle Boats and a mysterious Crocodile Maze. Fun activities are plentiful including Archery, Stilt Walking and even the very unusual Den Building activity. New for 2010 is Little Forest Play Barn which is the perfect place for the little ones to run around and is also handy if the weather is not great. Don't miss the amazing shows at the outdoor Forest Theatre which include magic shows, and pirate experiences.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Welsh Mountain Zoo is situated above Colwyn Bay offering stunning views and amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a relaxing day out with the kids. The beautiful gardens are home to many species of animals including some rare and endangered species. This Zoo is very much a conservation programme and educational talks are given regularly. Highlights include Sealions Rock, The Penguin Playtime show and the Chimp Encounter.

Glasfryn Activity Parc

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.

Rhondda Heritage Park

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Beautiful accommodation, looked and felt like new. Very spacious too. Everything we needed for the weekend. Welcome basket was very thoughtful too and much appreciated.
Would definately stay again and recommend.
More suited to adults as nothing on site as such, just surrounded by fields and countryside.
Staff very helpful.
My only slight criticism would be that our cabin was directly in the centre of the site so not very private when you are in the hot tub!

Lovely well kept site. We were a couple with a dog, we wanted to chill and relax and that's exactly we did. We stayed in a Lodge with a hot tub and everything was top notch! We have already booked to return next year. See you soon Maesmawr Farm.

We can not fault our lodge or the staff 10/10 fantastic what is a bit disappointing was that there’s nothing to do on site. But whilst we stayed it was a working development, saying that the workers were not loud we wouldn’t of noticed them if we didn’t go outside. Will be booking again without a doubt.
Carole
Beautiful lodge, well appointed and comfortable. Hot tub amazing. Not really room in the second bedroom to put the two beds together though. Site still under construction so entrance lane is a bit rough and no where to leave your key if you leave early. But otherwise a lovely site and we would definitely go back.
Charlotte
Beautiful lodge, lovely and very helpful staff. Highly recommend, will definitely be booking again
Rebecca
We stayed in lodge number 20 which is a premium lodge 2 and this holiday was perfect from start to finish. There was a welcome basket of snacks containing chocolates, brownies, crisps and chutney etc and I thought this was a lovely touch. We were made to feel so welcome with one of the staff coming over to give us a quick demo on how everything worked and were everything was. They even had a welcome meeting which was optional the next day with homemade cakes. The lodge itself was so clean and modern and had everything you would need. The hot tub was superb and perfect for anytime of the year with a beautiful decking area and picnic bench and even a bbq area for you to bring disposable ones. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the set up of the dressing room leading into the bathroom. I can't wait to stay here again.
Sharon
Lovely cabins in a great location to explore wales
Laura
A lovely site and the lodge we stayed in was fantastic. It was all very new, modern and clean and had everything you would require during your stay. We went for Christmas and so asked for some extra pans to cook the dinner and these were brought to us straight away. We also asked for a bucket to wash the dogs, nothing was too much trouble! At the minute the lodges are really nicely spaced out and there were lots of spaces to walk the dogs both on and around the site. There is a village with shop and pub a short walk away but it isn't the safest walk as there are no pavements. Overall we would all recommend this site and the superb lodges.

I would just like to say how amazing our stay was on the 18th of December 2017 until the 22nd December 2017 . The staff were fabulous and so was our lodge , my boyfriend proposed to me on the first night that we were there and it was the perfect place for a get away . Thank you so much for providing us with a fabulous place to stay aswell as super helpful staff Jess and James x
Wendy
We stayed in the 2 bedroom luxury lodge and it was excellent. Great facilities (finally a place that realises that self catering apartments/lodges need oven gloves). Lots a lovely, well though out extras. No facilities on site but this didn't matter to us as it was a lovely relaxing break. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. Hopefully a site that can keep up the high standard that they showed this year. Oh almost forgot we stayed at the beginning of December and they had put a Christmas tree in the lodge which was a lovely touch.
lorna
We had an amazing time here! We went with the pure intention of doing nothing and relaxing in the middle of nowhere. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially as it was our little girls birthday and on arrival the lodge had been decorated with balloons and banners and a birthday cake with a card. It was pure luxury with beautiful scenery. We will certainly be back next year.
Philip
