I booked a stay at the Cedars Spa cabin for leap year weekend so that I could propose to my boyfriend. It was the perfect location! The views were amazing and the cabin was wonderful. Warm and cosy on arrival and the bed was so comfy. We loved it so much we plan on coming back in the summer.

BTW.... He said yes!!!!

Date of stay: 31st January 2020
Well appointed very clean and comfortable lodge. Roomy and light both lodge and hot tub were warm and welcoming on arrival. Welcome pack of Tea/coffee etc. The position was perfect although anyone with walking difficulties would find the site very challenging, steep access roads. However the views from the lodge are beautiful because of the height. watching many squirrels and birds feeding.
Yvonne, Melton Mowbray

Date of stay: 27th December 2019
Our 3rd Christmas at Penllwyn and we’ve already booked our 4th!

Foxglove is the perfect family cabin. Lots of space but yet cosy. 3 bedrooms to suit our family needs, en-suite definitely appreciated. Adequately heated.

Outside space is perfect just wish it had a hot tub as that would be perfection on perfection.

Off a busyish road but yet so far away from reality - we love it!!
Victoria, Dartmouth
Date of stay: 8th December 2019
It was amazing from start to finish!
Andrew, Gb
Date of stay: 8th December 2019
The oaks is a stunning lodge just a little tired. Sofas are very comfortable just a bit tatty. Overall well worth a stay.
Edward, Gloucester
Date of stay: 2nd November 2019
Excellent well equipped accommodation in a fantastic environment. Well located for exploring and a brilliant place to return to at the end of the day to relax in comfort.

Can be tricky to find in the dark, an illuminated sign would massively assist but this is such a minor point and shouldn't detract from a great holiday destination.
Sarah, Nottingham
Date of stay: 30th October 2019
Beeches spa is a lovely lodge which has been upgraded. Ideal if you have pets or young children as the decking area is enclosed. Hot tub is a bonus and the views from the lodge are beautiful. Very peaceful and private. Facilities in the lodge are great - plenty of equipment in the kitchen for cooking etc, full size fridge/freezer which was a bonus. I agree with other reviews that the lodges are quite dark but we thought this added to the cosiness. The lodge is very spacious, and we thought the beds were comfy. The settee was like new. The kids loved playing in the woods and watching the squirrels. Would definitely return.
Wendy, Llandudno
Date of stay: 25th September 2019
A great location and we had a fab holiday. Dogs loved it too
Amanda, Gb
Date of stay: 24th September 2019
Soft furnishings and lighting etc. were slightly dated but other than than lovely clean well equipped.
Kelly, Manchester
Date of stay: 24th August 2019
Great sized lodge. The water pressure in the showers isn’t great, and a dishwasher would have been lovely, but there is plenty of room, comfy sofas and beds, and a lovely balcony area outside to enjoy a peaceful breakfast.
Vicky, Pontypridd
Date of stay: 23rd August 2019
Sycamore is amazing - the views are fantastic, especially from the hot tub! The lodge was clean, spacious and had everything we needed, while still feeling like we were "getting away from it all". The BBQ stand for disposable BBQs was a nice touch - only used it once but we really felt like we were making the most of being out in nature. Bird spotting was a morning routine - they sell peanuts on site, it was well worth it as we saw a woodpecker! Would go back here in a heartbeat, our 9 and 6 year olds agree!
Jane, Eastleigh
Date of stay: 17th August 2019
Everything was amazing. We have never been in a lodge before but I know we will again in the future.
Sarah
6 of in Squirrels Drew last weekend - the cabin was amazing and the story about how it originated was amazing left us all a bit emotional - possibly the gin though ? the surroundings are magical - the hot tub wow ?? The staff - well what can I say ????? Over and above ?? A beautiful place to go to and be at peace - please if you get the chance to visit grab it - perfect retreat - thanks y'all for everything x
Karen
2nd visit absolutely perfect like last time
Laura
Amazing third year in a row we have been gutted we can’t make it next year but will definitely book again.
Kerry
A beautiful and peaceful location, lodge had everything we needed and had a wonderful relaxed break. Only 1 thing to note accessibility the lodges are spaced around a very steep and windy road.
Elaine
This was our fifth visit to Penllwyn Lodges. Its a peaceful site with the lodges set in a wooded area. When we first visited years ago the fishing lake did have fish in it but in recent times this seems to have changed. I asked at reception about the fishing and was told they no longer advertise it as a fishing lake.
Tom
The most beautiful and idyllic place. I fist stayed here on a family holiday when I was 11, I am now 40 and still love this place!
Anna
The camp is beautiful, loved the way that the lodges were all far apart from each other.
Tracy
Really enjoyable stay. Would return.
Chanelle
Perfect little cabins and beautiful Jacuzzis. Absolutely loved the area and the surrounding countryside - its outstanding!!!! Just bring your bug spray haha as it is in a woodland. Very slight noise from the road during the daytime but absolutely no complaints at all!
Inara
Very amazing place we have a wonderful time Very amazing staff Reception very beautiful lady Emma xx Thank you so much for amazing holiday xx
Rae
Equipment in the kitchen was a little limited but otherwise cabin was lovely. Very cosy. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
Stephen
