Ceiriog Valley was described by David Lloyd George as 'a little bit of heaven on Earth'. Just a few miles from the English border on the A5 into North Wales, it's peaceful, tranquil and remarkably unspoilt. The apartments are right on the Ceiriog river, surrounded by hills, trails and mountains, but only a short distance from Shrewsbury, Wrexham and Chester.

Llangollen is a walker's paradise and there are plenty of trails and paths that take you through stunning scenery, including a dramatic section of the Offa's Dyke path. Take a steam train ride or go on a horse-drawn narrow boat, catch a show at the Victorian Town Hall, or mooch around the many independent gift, arts and craft shops.

Ty Nant is a beautifully furnished first floor apartment with one super king size double and one twin (that can be a double by arrangement). There's a spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area and a balcony with views out to the Ceiriog Valley.

Bordering the River Dee, the Victoria Promenade is a great place to take a picnic. You can go fishing, mountain biking, pony trekking or head to historic Chirk to explore the 13th century castle.

Our Top Tip
"Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is 70 feet high and has amazing views of the Welsh mountains and Chirk Castle - if you have a stomach for heights, the scenery is breathtaking!"

Fun Days Out in Denbighshire

Treasure Island Fun Centre

Located in Anglesey in the North of Wales this has to be one of our favourite attractions in the area.  The maze of ramps, slides and tubes will keep the little ones entertained and allow to them to run off their excess energy.  For kids aged 1 to 10 we highly recommend this place.

Penrhyn Castle

Situated in the Gwynedd area of Wales this neo-Norman castle is well worth a visit.  Full of historic and fascinating objects this Castle will appeal to many.  Some of the highlights include the amazing collection of paintings, The Victorian Kitchen, the Servants Rooms, the one ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria and the mock Norman furniture.

Dinosaur Park

This is a popular theme park for kids of all ages where you can follow Dinosaur Trails, play on the adventure playgrounds and on rainy days head for the indoor play den.  You will find this attraction in the Tenby area of Mid Wales and we think it's great value for money.  If you fancy a snack while you are there then the Dinosaur Restaurant and Picnic Area are on hand.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you like gardens then this place is sure to appeal.  With some of the most rare plants in the country and even in the world your visit will help to protect some of these species.  Attractions within the Botanic Garden include a mini farm, discovery centre, adventure zone and bee garden.  Located in the Llanarthne area of Mid Wales this place is easily accessible from many of the holiday parks in the area.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is the premier family fun park in Wales and has lots to offer for adults and children alike. Within the park are amazing Treetop Towers, exciting Jungle Boats and a mysterious Crocodile Maze. Fun activities are plentiful including Archery, Stilt Walking and even the very unusual Den Building activity. New for 2010 is Little Forest Play Barn which is the perfect place for the little ones to run around and is also handy if the weather is not great. Don't miss the amazing shows at the outdoor Forest Theatre which include magic shows, and pirate experiences.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Welsh Mountain Zoo is situated above Colwyn Bay offering stunning views and amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a relaxing day out with the kids. The beautiful gardens are home to many species of animals including some rare and endangered species. This Zoo is very much a conservation programme and educational talks are given regularly. Highlights include Sealions Rock, The Penguin Playtime show and the Chimp Encounter.

Glasfryn Activity Parc

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.

Rhondda Heritage Park

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Nice scenery and walks in the Ceiriog Valley and very clean and well equipped apartment. Good location for visiting surrounding towns and Snowdon. The service received from Keeta was exceptional. We had an issue with the lock and hot water, but these were all resolved to our satisfaction by professionals promptly. I have nothing but praise for the excellent level of service provided by the owner - Keeta. I would without hesitation stay with any other property owned by her again. 10/10 Highly recommended.

Lovely short break away, the apartments are excellent, very cosy and warm just perfect. The welcome pack was a very nice touch and greatly appreciated. Surroundings very nice, lots of great walks straight from the door. We went with our 5 year old who loved the park just over the road, and also enjoyed the walking too. The list of walks in the information folder was very helpful and we picked one that would be suitable for our 5 year old who said she'd had a great adventure, it snowed too which made it even more fun. The pub served very nice food and staff were friendly. We would definitely book again to stay in these apartments.

Very nice apartment, could have done with some outside cleaning , Windows and doors, and found some broken glass on the carpet , but otherwise a great location and good value for money. However the Cancellation Insurance is a waste of money , we thought we may have to cancel , due to my Mother bieng very ill, Not covered!! , and when the snow came and we were not sure is we could get there , Not covered !! , unless we attempted a dangerous journey , and took photos as proof!! Outrageous!! We actually went a day later, and had a safe journey , but a shorter break.
Diane
