Lovely place with friendly staff, comfy cabins too!

Honestly, we wouldn’t come back. The place was freezing and we had to leave early because of it. The hot tub wasn’t ready when we arrived, which was the main reason we booked in the first place, so that was a bit of a letdown. No staff around when we got there either and we had to knock on a guest’s door just to find out how to get into our pod - they just told us to go in! We had no phone or internet signal and since it’s in the middle of nowhere, you’d think someone would be there to help. The shower was broken and, due to how cold the pod was, we just couldn’t stay longer. Not what we expected at all!

We spent four fantastic nights here from the 8th of July and honestly, we had an amazing time. The accommodation was spotless and had everything you'd need for a chilled out break. The hot tub was a real highlight-checked daily, always pristine and clearly well looked after. Everyone we met on the park was super friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even better. It’s such a lovely spot, perfect for exploring the Newcastleton mountain bike trails, just a short stroll into the village where you can find everything. The Wi-Fi was spot-on-super quick, no issues at all, contrary to some reviews. We really didn’t want to leave! Can’t wait to return someday.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The shower was a bit snug, but honestly, that’s probably just our own size issues. Still, lovely place!

We recently stayed at this remote getaway spot and honestly, it did exactly what it promises - a peaceful escape from everyday life. Perfect for couples or families who want some quality time away from the hustle and bustle. The location is pretty isolated, but that’s clearly mentioned in the description, so we weren’t caught off guard. One thing that did bother us a bit was the check-in time being at 4pm and check-out at 10am - feels like you’re paying mainly for one day, which seems a little steep. The pod itself was spotless and well-maintained, so no complaints there. The hot tub was enjoyable, though the cover kept flapping around, which kept the kids entertained trying to catch it! The biggest hassle was the shower situation. The shower in our pod was out of order for most of our stay and when we alerted staff, they quickly fixed it by telling us to use the shower in the neighbouring pod. That wasn’t ideal with three kids in tow, especially as it wasn’t clear if we could shower there again the next day or if it was just a one-off fix. Plus, having to move toiletries between pods and walk around in swimwear was a bit of a pain. Still, all in all, a lovely place to unwind and disconnect. The countryside was stunning and really helped us relax.

We had such a wonderful stay, honestly! The staff went out of their way, leaving a lovely bottle of fizz outside our door the day after we tied the knot. We wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely booking again soon!

We had a lovely three-night stay at the Retunder Lodge. It’s perfect for a small family, with all the essentials like a Smart TV and decent WiFi. The hot tub was definitely the highlight, especially on chilly nights. We’d happily return!

We loved the stunning setting, really peaceful and perfect for unwinding. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, such a treat after a long day. Sadly, the WiFi was a bit of a letdown - despite the staff’s efforts with a booster, it didn’t work. Still, overall, a lovely spot for some relaxation. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! The setting is truly peaceful and perfect for unwinding. My partner loved being able to fish anytime, which made his trip special. The lodge was spotless and really well equipped. Definitely a place we’d tell our friends and family about! Would go again for sure.

We found the place quite decent overall, but the unwashed mug in the cupboard was a bit off-putting. Also, only one toilet roll supplied, so we brought our own.

Loved the quiet vibe and how close it was to the town centre. Definitely planning to come back soon!

We had a cracking time staying here in November 2019and decided to come back in January 2020 - no regrets! The lodge is spotlessly clean and super comfy, even when it’s freezing outside. Pauline is a star, always happy to share local tips and update us on road closures - she even popped by to check everything was alright, which we really appreciated given the weather. Can’t wait to return again! It’s a gem, though I’d hate for it to get so popular we can’t get a booking. Highly recommended!

Date of stay: 18th November 2019
We recently stayed at this lovely lodge and honestly, it exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless and super comfy, making it a real home from home. The kitchen was a highlight - perfect for cooking up a storm on those rainy, chilly days, with plenty of space for all our pots and plates. Inside, it felt warm and inviting and surprisingly roomy for four adults. The setting was simply stunning - rolling hills and a gentle river right outside. Pauline was a star, really helpful with directions and updates about the flooding, checking in on us and offering her contact for anything we needed. We didn't want to leave!

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it’s quite lovely. The place feels personal and welcoming. The bed was a tad too soft for our liking, but overall, it was pretty comfy. The shower pressure did drop if someone used the kitchen tap though.

We had such a lovely stay here in November 2019 and decided to come back in January 2020 - no regrets! The lodge was spotless and super comfy, keeping us warm even in the cold weather. Pauline was absolutely lovely, always ready with helpful tips about local spots and road updates, which was really thoughtful. She even checked in on us to make sure everything was alright, which we appreciated. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Would definitely recommend it, though we’d hate for it to get so popular we can't get a booking!

Really enjoyed it, definitely coming back soon!
Emma, Forfar
The lodge was lovely and felt quite cosy overall. We liked the personal touch, though comfort is subjective - I found it pretty comfy, but the bed was a tad too soft for us. Also, the shower pressure drops when someone uses the kitchen tap, which was a bit annoying!
Joanne
Riverview is perfect if you want a quiet site. With no hassle.

Fabulous cabin, very clean and comfortable. Everything catered for.

We had a lovely stay at Riverview, our pod with the hottub was just so lovely. The park itself was really quiet and peaceful. There isn't much around so be prepared to drive to different areas for shops etc.
Melonie
Lovely peaceful site. Loved the dog walking area. Great site
Sam
We had a lovely weekend. The park is in a beautiful location and our daughter (1) was delighted when some sheep came wandering over.
Julia
Beautiful and peaceful, ideal location to visit surrounding area including Kielder
