Beechwood Park

We loved how peaceful it was. Just what we were looking for. The lodge was lovely as well - clean and spacious.

We booked 2 lodges and unfortunately only 1 was up to standard. The one (no.9) that wasn't needed a lot of repairs. The outside decking was rotten and a health & safety risk. There was no hot water even after reporting it. The floor in the kitchen next to the cooker was rotten. There was a dirty towel which looked like excrement on it and a facemask left behind one of the bedroom doors. One of the dining chairs was broken and would have collapsed if sat on. None of the blinds worked and were shut all the time. There were cobwebs in the corners of each room. In both lodges there were not enough utensils e.g. no scissors, microwavable bowl. Small fridge/freezer in no.9 for a party of 6. Outside area - there were quaint wooden structures to sit on/in but covered in cobwebs and dirty (just needed brushing out). If you get a new lodge guaranteed then no problem.

Overall, a lovely stay with just a small issue-en suite door kept coming loose, but everything else was great.

The lodge was lovely overall, but we did miss some kitchen essentials like egg cups, a proper measuring jugand a sharper knife beyond the bread one. Still, nice stay!

The lodge was really comfy and spacious, kept lovely and warm. Only snag was the missing tin opener, but the staff sorted it out quickly. Cheers!

Great place, definitely coming back

The lodge itself was lovely, really comfy and clean. The DVD player was a bit of a letdown, though, since it didn't work the first night. Luckily, Sharon sorted it out pretty quickly once we mentioned it. Can't fault her at all-she was really helpful. Overall, a great stay with just a small hiccup, which was sorted fast. Would definitely recommend!

We loved the lodge, honestly couldn’t have asked for more!

We stayed there with our 18-month-old and found the space quite tight for a travel cot. Also, a few of the interior doors didn’t shut properly because the latches were bent or didn’t quite line up. Could be better, honestly.

Overall, we had a good stay. The only downside was the electricity charge, but it was simple to keep costs downand we got a refund for what we didn’t use. We’d definitely come back!

Cozy stay, would recommend

The accommodation was generally to a very good standard and well equipped the only problem was that in December time you would expect the electric fire to be functional but did not even have a lead on it

The overall cabin was beautiful with just enough space for two people. It had a lovely warm electric fire and a comfy bed!

Lodge good except for the musty smell but reception and cafe never open and we went on a weekend +would be unsuitable for anyone without transport as the nearest shop was ten mins drive away

The Finch Lodge was compact but perfect for a couple wanting a quiet weekend. The lodge leaned towards the basic side since they don't have a dishwasher and only left a tea towel (no dish cloth or soap), but at this price, that’s to be expected. Just be sure to pack those items if you plan on cooking as well. There were plenty of crockery, cutlery and pans, although I found it tough with just one oven tray. The bedroom, though compact, has a wardrobe on both sides of the bed and even a dressing table fitted in. For the price, the lodge is really good value and we will be staying again!

We noticed that the hot water taps could use some fixing upand there were a few light bulbs that were missing too.

Cooker Hood needs new bulb as does the oven and bulb also gone In bathroom.....
