Lovely lodge, weirdly well equipped with some things but not with other things. Air fryer and one tray provided but no oil or foil provided to use the oven etc - not something we thought to bring. Only given 1 and half toilet rolls for the whole weekend for four people, not ideal. Hot tub on the Friday night was ice cold so unable to use, tried to call maintence number but no answer. Luckily had warmed up the Saturday afternoon so able to use. No one in reception to ask for more toilet roll and didn’t feel warranted calling the maintenance number. Overall a nice stay but not sure I’d rush back!

I would most likely not return to this location. We turned up on the Friday for a long weekend. The hot tub in lodge 10 was not warm and even with calling someone out twice it could not be sorted so we could not use it that night. We tried again the next morning but It was still not up to temperature, also found the dishwasher was broken and there was a stagnant smell coming from the onsuite bathroom. Called staff out again who had a look at all three things, they confirmed they would contact the boss/owner to find out what to do and then they left and we never heard anything else. The staff were very polite and lovely however the facilities were not up to standard and we could barely use the hot tub which was our main reason for going. Would not visit again unfortunately.

Worst holiday booked through Hoseasons. I would avoid at all cost! They cancelled our stay on the day we were scheduled to arrive with a pathetic excuse. Managed to find us another lodge, miraculously! Not up to standard of what we usually experience with Hoseasons. Avoid!

Good value for money, furniture fittings do need updating but they are in regards to painting and updating rather than the use of the fittings. Everything was easy to use, beds were comfortable besides 1 bed in the single bed room was sunken a bit. Dining room chairs need replacing as the leather is damaged. Everything else good. I like that there was a washer/dryer as an option, Televisions in room could be a bit bigger, was not used.

The lodge was comfortable, warm and clean. The kitchen was well-equipped though not everything had been washed properly. The staff were very friendly and helpful prior to and on arrival and the hot tub was ready for us to use as soon as we arrived. The lodge had a few minor issues: bedside lights not working, showers leaking badly, freezer almost falling out from under the counter. Just a few areas that need a bit of TLC. However the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The fireplace is lovely. Slight issue with the hot tub on the second day but quickly resolved. The lodges are also very close together so if there are people both sides of you there's not a massive amount of privacy, especially when there are people fishing right the other side of your balcony. The 9am departure time is quite ridiculous. When you're only there for a weekend having to leave by 9am on a Sunday is a joke having only been there since 5pm Friday. We had to set an alarm for 7:30am to make sure we'd cleaned everything and were out in time. Not really what you want on a relaxing weekend.Despite the minor flaws though we had a lovely short break and would return.

The kitchen facilities were great there is a dishwasher and air fryer but remember to take washing up liquid and cloth, cooking oil etc. if you forget anything there’s a few local shops. Takeaways delivered to the gate. The hot tub was amazing, there were robes and towels provided. I was able to check in prior to arrival as the reception was closed by the time I was to get there the staff were friendly and helpful. I’ve already recommended this place. Also check out Toons cafe it has the best breakfasts and hand make cakes. There’s also a spa which I forgot about otherwise I would’ve booked a massage. Maybe if I come back next year!

Lodge was lovely, Hot tub great , only thing was it not being to heat on the first night and having such an early check out on the last morning. We were pre warned on this but made the time there feel short

Whilst we had a nice stay there were a few things that let it down. Firstly we were told to ring when we arrived at 5pm to check in. I rang two different numbers several times over 10 minutes and no one answered meaning we couldn't even get into the property. We had to ring customer services who were just as confused as us. Thankfully he gave us the gate code and which number we were staying in. Later they day we were then rung about paying a security deposit in the morning but again when we rang in the morning no one answered, they then rang in the evening finally saying they were available so we were having to fit around them. Whilst the man was quite friendly and couldn't understand why we were paying a deposit at 5pm and then leaving at 9am the next day the woman was quite rude and unfriendly. The stay itself was nice bit the first night the hot tub wasn't hot enough to use and the house itself needs a little TLC

The cabin we were in was very warm and inviting. The hot tub was the best and it’s everything that you needed for a break away or a romantic trip. There was no noise from other's even in the day. It was clean, well equipped and a fantastic pleasure to spend the weekend in can’t wait to return already booked.

All enjoyed our stay but wished the spar had been up and running. Very good location and lodge was very well equipped and clean. Very good value for money.
Ronald

Amazing pleace 100%
Kerry
We had a lovely break the lodge was spotlessly clean lovely soft towels provided, plenty of wardrobe space in both rooms. The beds were comfy. Hot tub checked and cleaned each day. My only negative is the kitchen knives were very blunt so struggled to even slice a tomato but that's the only negative I could state we had a lovely time and would definitely go back again.

My third time here and I absolutely love it!

Beautiful lodge in very peaceful setting. Nice walk along the lake/river. Hot tub was fab. Ian the staff was so helpful. A really lovely break.

This is our second stay at Ashby woulds and we would stay again. The local area is nice with things to do- it’s close enough to town for takeaways or dinner out and the lodges are in a nice private gated park which made us feel safe. It’s very laid back and quiet and the hot tub is lovely!
