Fun Days Out in Cumbria & The Lakes

Lake District Wildlife Park

Both children and adults will enjoy a day out here where you can see over 100 species of animals including Zebras and Antelope.  At set times you can go an see Birds of Prey flying displays as well as Zoo Keeper Presentations which are educational as well as fun. If the weather is not on your side then you can make the most of the indoor heated play area and modern cafe.  Located at Coalbeck Farm in Cumbria we think this is a must for families...

Ullswater Steamers

A trip to Cumbria wouldn't be complete without a cruise on the lake and what better way to do this than on an Ullswater Steamer.  Ullswater is widely regarded as the most beautiful of all of the lakes in the area.  This award winning attraction has been in business for 150 years and currently has four vessels operating Ullswater lake cruises.  A further option is to combine a lake cruise with some of the most breathtaking walks in the area.

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery

Described as the number one attraction in Carlisle this place makes a fantastic day out for all the family.  Suitable for all weathers you can take in interesting exhibitions and enjoy interactive fun.  Lookout for special events which take place at various times of year such as Easter weekend and summer holidays. Open daily all year round.

Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis
Lakeland's Wildlife Discovery Centre is the perfect place for a fun day out which is also educational. The unique centre offers visitors the chance to explore many species of exotic wildlife through interactive 'hands-on' displays. These clever displays travel through 3,000 million years of evolution from the development of life on Earth. The centre is home to some of the world's most threatened species and plays an important role in international breeding.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay, extremely clean and modern caravan. Friendly staff lovely food really could not fault anything. Had a lovely holiday and old definitely stay again.
Lovely site. Caravan was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Lovely setting!
Fabulous park Pretty surroundings ideally located for see the whole of the Lake District Very friendly helpful staff couldn’t do enough for us Would love to return with warmer weather
The caravan was lovely, just needed a few finishing touches to make it perfect, such as, bath mats for outside the shower/ towels/ some egg cups/ possibly a set of plastic beakers/plates for children staying/ little wastes bins in bathroom & bedroom. I know not necessary but we had to improvise with a hand towel for outside the shower so we didn't slip, especially the grandchildren, had to take bin out of the main area for the bathroom for sanitary items & improvise glasses stuffed with tissues as egg cups for boiled eggs & soldiers for grandchildren. Silly things, but essential things.
Lovely park with excellent accommodation, very clean and modern. Great bar/restaurant on site. Would recommend
Lovely location - staff fantastic - caravan amazing and spotlessly clean. A quiet site with lovely views. A nice bar / restaurant on site, but there was nobody in on Sun so it may only be Fri and sat that there is an atmosphere in there? Appleby a short drive away though (10 min) A great place to explore the surrounding area, pool looks lovely but was closed at the time of year we went so check if this is important to you, Overall very pleased.
Amazing tranquil location .everything so clean, staff more than happy to help, and unbelievably good food. Truly couldn't have asked for more. By far the best park I have ever stayed at - and I have stayed at many over the years
Absolutely great place will definately be back, accommodation was spotless x
