Set on a private beach and surrounded by peaceful countryside, Mersea Island Holiday Park has some first class facilities including an outdoor heated pool, live family entertainment, adventure play area and an on-site clubhouse.

Mersea Island is the most easterly inhabited island in the UK and is full of coastal gems like mudflats, salt marshes and native oysters.

From the private beach to the park's own boat launching facilities, Mersea Island Holiday Park is the perfect family holiday. The outdoor heated swimming pool is a real bonus, and you'll also find tennis courts, as well as an on-site bakery, shop and launderette.

The park has a good selection of two and three bedroom caravans including the Luxury Caravan 8 which has one double and two twin bedrooms.

Essex is a county full of contrasts - there are some brilliant seaside resorts but also miles of unspoilt coastline and countryside. And there's lots to see and do in the local area with museums at Colchester and Ipswich and great shopping at Braintree.

Fun Days Out in Essex

No visit to Essex is complete without a day at this popular zoo with over 250 species of animals. The enclosures are well maintained and the zoo provides a good habitat for the animals there.  The 60 acres of parkland and lakes are ideal for walking round and we are sure this day out will provide you with lasting enjoyable memories.   Some of the highlights include penguins which you can see swimming at Penguin Shores, and the elephants at Spirit of Africa.  In addition there are over 30 daily shows to attend.

This attraction is actually free of charge to enter which we think is excellent.  Located on the Southend Seafront there are over 50 rides and attractions to enjoy.  For the very daring there is a 75ft roller coaster with a more than vertical drop- not for the faint hearted!  Other highlights include the Dragon's Claw, Vortex, Scorpion, Ramba Zamba and Sky Drop.  Younger children will also find plenty of more gentle rides and attractions to keep them entertained.

A day at Great Notley Discovery Centre and Park is a fantastic way to explore the very best of Essex offering many facilities including a sensory trail, visitor centre, bistro and cycle hire centre. There are links to  over 15 miles of walking and cycling paths on the Flitch Way too. Those with young children can rent a trailer or tandem bike to make exploring fun for the whole family.

The caravan was lovely. The fixtures and fittings were of a high standard and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and included a built in microwave. A very nice touch was the addition of towels and toiletries waiting for us upon arrival.
Also, there was a lovely, and unexpected treat bag for our dog, which he loved.

The caravan was brilliant.....we requested a balcony however wasn't expecting one so when we realised we had one it was a great addition. There were doggy bags with goodies in, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits in a basket, towels with soap, shower gel and shampoo's It was like turning up to a hotel rather than a caravan.
There was only a couple of issues which are small - there was a dirty radiator in the bathroom which with a bit of elbow grease could have been cleaned. Also the toaster was a real cheap one which couldn't really fit normal sized bread in there......it had to be squashed in! The extractor fan was working, but again these are things that can be resolved by the owners pretty easily.
Overall we were very impressed with the caravan and was one of the better ones we have stayed in.

Disappointed not to have a television in the double bedroom as it's nice not watching children's programs of an evening.

Great location, caravan clean with lovely welcome pack and doggie pack on arrival. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff and small shop on site.
Christine
Our caravan was spotless as was the camp itself. The only down side is the shop is very small and you can only get the bare essentials in there otherwise you have to go to West Mersey. The swimming pool and very small club house closed at 5pm which did seem rather early. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay as did our dogs. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and we have booked again for next year.
Peter
Well organised, quiet, pleasant and restful.
Wendy
The site is quite small and quiet, situated on the edge of the estuary. The pool looked very nice. We did not use it but it appeared clean and very well maintained. The club house is small. The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. A special mention for the receptionist ' 'Roanna' who was so professional and smiley at all times. Nothing was too much trouble for her.
Irene
So surprised to see towels provided for us,and tea, suger, milk, biscuits, bottle of wine ,beer, soft drinks,We didn't no that was included. Thank You,also there was brilliant staff who made the holiday worthwhile.
Warren
Lovely place with a nice calm atmosphere..staff friendly and helpful..had a great relaxing week out the way..
Marion
Our only problem was getting our Mother in & out of accomadation. The steps were too unsteady & with only one handrail it was very difficult as she has severe arthritis. We were impressed with the cleanliness of everything & the welcome pack was an unexpected treat. Was disappointed that the luxury caravan didn't have a veranda. Compliments to the staff for being very helpful. Hope to return in the near future
