We had a wonderful time, we enjoyed the hot tub, egg bbq, accommodation and the G&T cafe. We had a lovely week and it was a lovely location and it was nice to have a cafe/resturant on site made life easy. Angrove was very accommodating and very pet friendly On out arrive we was a little bit shocked that we was right next to the park. And in the hot tube/ patio area we could see the park and people in the distance that was in the cafe, this was a bit annoying as it didn't feel very private. But quickly we was okay with it as we had a little 6year old that loved the park and it was nice to sit with a tea on the balcony area while she played and still seeing her. So even thorigh the park was a shock it worked ourlt for the best as it suited us and the little one. On out stay (Wednesday 31 July) the county park put a fence between us and the park to stop people from the cafe walking into the country park. This made sense but, they fancy guy stated at 9 and didn't finsih till 3ish. The staff did pay for our breakfast complimentary which was appropriated but the fence took all day not just the morning. The worked and the tractor vehicle nailing the fence panels in was right next too out lodge. Once it was done we realised for the little one to go park we had to walk all the way round and did not see the benefit from being next too the park as we needed to walk all the way round with her as it was by the nail entrance. So we found the brightside of being near park but then the fence came and that brightside was no longer bright. The fence was disturbing and we didn't not want to go in hot tub as it was nit private while the fence working did his job. We had a wonderful time in genral but that did upset us as we came to relax so it would have been nice if the fence was done another time.We really was happy with our stay in genralz we loved the facilities, friendly staff, accommodation literally evething.

will definitely not go back to a place that moves you about to worse accomodation insultingly saying its a upgrade. Does not warn in advance re building work / diggers on site and fact workmen will be sitting opposite your windows and hot tub ie we would of changed dates of holliday - and you dont get the cabin you choose they will try to move you to a worse one. Mainly though their attitude and inability to say sorry and try to put things right means i would advise to avoid site - their plenty of log cabin sites in nice locations etc to choose from. esp at the prices they charge.

The mark down is not due to the quality of the accommodation at all. We usually book a lodge but thought we would try something different. The dome just didn’t sit well with my husband’s disabilities and so the park offered to move us into a lodge after 2 days which we gladly accepted. Under other circumstances it would have been 5* for all categories. Perfect for a romantic getaway I think.

The lodge was one we had not previously stayed in. It was spotlessly clean, the furnishings are high quality and the hot tub was the best we have ever been in.

A perfect stay. A clean and well equipped lodge and located right next to the park and mini golf for our children to enjoy. Outdoor area was great with a lovely hot tub and outdoor kitchen to enjoy a bbq. The location of Angrove is perfect with lots of nice villages to drive or walk into. The staff were all accommodating, friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Angrove

The only thing that we would suggest is that the bedroom could do with some sort of black out blinds or curtains, as the slatted blinds allowed the light through from 4am each morning.

The new lodges at angrove in the woods are brand new and very comfortable and modern. We loved our time there apart from the noise and being overlooked, all staff are very polite, helpful and friendly. If you have any problems they will try to resolve it straight away.

The accommodation is very nice as it is brand new. It provides all the self catering options you need (washing machine/ dishwasher and microwave). The en-suite is an added bonus. The hot tub and outside area really do make the accommodation extra special.

Could do with more cutlery/crockery. One per person isn't enough when 4 adults sharing. Apart from that, all great!

Lovely location with lots to do in the area. Lodge was very clean and well equipped. Only thing that spoiled the week a bit was all the on site building work. We were in a lodge directly overlooking everything that was going on. Had our nervous terrier with us who kept barking at the machinery noise, so had to keep curtains shut so he couldn't see outside. Also if it had been warmer wouldn't have been able to sit outside and enjoy peace and quiet. Work started around 8.30 and went on till 6.30 on some nights. I know this has to be done but would have preferred a lodge in a quieter position, wouldn't have booked the lodge if we had known in advance about the building work. Also as my husband repairs plant machinery for a living so he didn't particularly want to look at them working on his holiday. Sorry can't give you a higher rating on this occasion. I'm sure everything will be fabulous when finished.

One of the best weekend breaks I have had. So peaceful and relaxing. Lodge was beautiful staff lovely and very helpful. We will be back

We've just returned from a trip at Angrove Country Park, staying at one of the Escape Outdoor Living Lodges. After arriving at reception, we were guided to the car park where a member of staff in a golf buggy took our bags and dropped them at our lodge - this was great as it took some of the stress of carrying all our bags away!
When we arrived at the lodge we were delighted to see a fan had been provided as it was a very hot day. The overall appearance of the lodge was impressive - very modern, kitted out with fresh bedding, towels and little extras like dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. I was also impressed that a range of different plastic cups were provided for the hot tub area, a pint of milk was in the fridge, charcoal and firestarters were provided for the BBQ, and free WiFi was available for individual lodges.
The park is currently under construction and not many amenities are available on site - however an excellent restaurant is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner so all bases are covered. A crazy golf is also being installed. The park itself is situated a few minutes drive from Great Ayton, a lovely little village with pubs, restaurants and shops should you need anything else. It's also situated very close to Roseberry Topping which is worth a visit if you enjoy walking/hiking.
We experienced an issue during our stay - our fridge freezer was not working and as a result, our frozen food defrosted. The out of hours staff visited twice but couldn't really do anything except ask us to wait until the morning. Luckily the fridge freezer seemed to fix itself overnight but it was a bit inconvenient for the first night. Perhaps if alternative accommodation was available we could have moved. Having said that, we used the outdoor fridge for anything needing chilled.
When we used the hot tub for the first time we noticed it wasn't as clean as it could be - perhaps this needs to be reviewed in the feedback process.
Overall, however, we absolutely loved our stay at Angrove Country Park and would love to come back. The outdoor kitchen area makes this park stand out from others and it was amazing just!

Very quiet and relaxing break, near the coastline, dog friendly site lodge's very cosy and clean
Angela
Picturesque location, looking on to the Cleveland Hills, Rosberry Topping, Captain Cook monument. Walking distance in to nearby village of Great Ayton, recommend Royal Oak and dog friendly too. Didn't walk to Stokesley but did drive there. Lovely, clean, well equipped lodge, outdoor living escape, with not only hot tub but outdoor kitchen complete with bbq and fridge. Everything provided for bbq. This is the most compact lodge we have stayed in with Leisure Resorts but the outdoor kitchen makes up for this. It isn't too small and is very comfy but in comparison to other lodges, we've been in, is. The outdoor seating on the decking and at outdoor kitchen is very comfortable, however maybe instead of a dining set on decking more of a lounge set? We took our dog as did many others, so dog friendly. Our dog didn't get a welcome with dog bed, treats etc must have been forgotten. We did have an issue first night we arrived, fridge didn't appear to be working and freezer not freezing. I did call out of hours number but didn't receive a response, not sure why this is as every staff member we met was so friendly and helpful and sure if they had received the message it would have been dealt with. Used outdoor fridge and in morning fridge was working. No instruction manuals which would have been good. The Woods lodges don't have parking at lodge but the car park is close and luggage is carried to lodge in golf buggy at check in. The site is in development but it is very well maintained and will just get even better. We were not affected by work being carried out. We felt the location of our lodge was ideal and we had privacy around our hot tub but some others didn't. The day we arrived was very hot but staff had opened all windows and left a fan running. Ate and drank at the G&Tea Cafe a few times, dogs welcome outside. All site & restaurant staff friendly, very hardworking and welcoming. Used an Indian for a takeaway, Akbars Darbar, they delivered to car park, amazing food. Found it a very peaceful site, enjoyed watching the children play in the sun and spotted some wildlife too. Will definitely be back.

One of the nicest places we have visited. It is still developing and in time I think will be even better. The lodge was spotless, beautifully finished and had everything you need for a relaxing stay. We loved the outdoor kitchen and hot tub. It could do with a little more privacy around hot tubs, but we never felt overlooked or uncomfortable. Staff are incredibly helpful and do all they can to make your stay perfect. We will definitely return to Angrove Park.
Wendy
Fabulous weekend everything about the site and lodge was first class inside lodge was smart and relaxing outside hot tub also fab and the outdoor kitchen and bbq was a definite bonus with the hot sunny weather such a relaxing time we also loved the G n Tea house on site very smart scrumptious food and drinks and very friendly service we will definitely return here and have recommended it to all our family and friends
Jill
Lovely park in idyllic location. Beautiful lodge with hot tub. Lodges are nicely spaced out so very private. Still some landscaping going on but it didn't bother us. The roads need to be tarmac because the current gravel is very noisy and dusty.
Louise
The park is still being built so there is noise from this. However it did not interfere with our stay.
Staff very helpful and couldn’t be more pleasant.
It is situated between 2 villages which had plenty amenities for what we needed. Although hard to believe just off a main road as it is so peaceful and the views are spectacular from the lodges.
JulieAnne
We have just returned from a fabulous week. The lodge was beautiful clean and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the outdoor area and the hot tub. Also the dog basket and treats were a lovely touch. The surrounding areas are beautiful. 2 gorgeous villages with a nice walk to each especially with a dog. We will definitely be returning.
Gordon
Had a fantastic relaxing time at Angrove, the outdoor space at the lodge was used alot as due to the great weather we spent almost all day out in the hot tub or under the sun shade. The Big Green Egg BBQ was very easy to use and the charcoal and fire lighters were always well stocked. Staff at reception and maintenance guys were super helpful and friendly, only downside to the site was the G&Tea house bar closes at 6pm most of the week.
The village of Great Ayton is only a 15 walk away and has a few cafes and bars to choose from, the pizza in The Poorhouse restaurant was a highlight of the holiday. Fletchers Farm cafe and farm shop also well worth a visit.
We have already looked at booking for same time next year.
