Trecco Bay has had major investment and as a result is now one of the finest holiday parks in Wales. The park is simply bursting with facilities and is perfect for families with children of all ages. The park also benefits form having sandy beaches to three sides meaning you don't have to go far if you are looking to build sandcastles and splash in the waves.

This place is all about fun! There is an amazing indoor pool complex where you can spend days enjoying the slides, pirate ship, chutes and toddler pool. If you like the water then you will love the out door wet play area with water guns and fountains and splash in.
Kids can enjoy the clubs on offer which have something for all age groups including a freestyle clubs for teenagers. There is an adventure play ground and arcade zone and two all weather sports courts as well as a sports extra program and mini 10 pin bowling meaning that active kids are never short of things to do.

Accommodation is in caravans and there are several to choose from sleeping from 4 to 8 people. The top of the range model is the Pembroke which is 12 ft wide making it great for larger families. It also has double glazing and central heating making it warm and cosy what ever the weather. The Snowdon is a good choice if you are watching the pennies and still provides comfortable accommodation with one double and one twin bedroom. Other Caravans are also available.

Fun Days Out in Glamorgan/The Valley

Treasure Island Fun Centre

Located in Anglesey in the North of Wales this has to be one of our favourite attractions in the area.  The maze of ramps, slides and tubes will keep the little ones entertained and allow to them to run off their excess energy.  For kids aged 1 to 10 we highly recommend this place.

Penrhyn Castle

Situated in the Gwynedd area of Wales this neo-Norman castle is well worth a visit.  Full of historic and fascinating objects this Castle will appeal to many.  Some of the highlights include the amazing collection of paintings, The Victorian Kitchen, the Servants Rooms, the one ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria and the mock Norman furniture.

Dinosaur Park

This is a popular theme park for kids of all ages where you can follow Dinosaur Trails, play on the adventure playgrounds and on rainy days head for the indoor play den.  You will find this attraction in the Tenby area of Mid Wales and we think it's great value for money.  If you fancy a snack while you are there then the Dinosaur Restaurant and Picnic Area are on hand.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you like gardens then this place is sure to appeal.  With some of the most rare plants in the country and even in the world your visit will help to protect some of these species.  Attractions within the Botanic Garden include a mini farm, discovery centre, adventure zone and bee garden.  Located in the Llanarthne area of Mid Wales this place is easily accessible from many of the holiday parks in the area.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is the premier family fun park in Wales and has lots to offer for adults and children alike. Within the park are amazing Treetop Towers, exciting Jungle Boats and a mysterious Crocodile Maze. Fun activities are plentiful including Archery, Stilt Walking and even the very unusual Den Building activity. New for 2010 is Little Forest Play Barn which is the perfect place for the little ones to run around and is also handy if the weather is not great. Don't miss the amazing shows at the outdoor Forest Theatre which include magic shows, and pirate experiences.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Welsh Mountain Zoo is situated above Colwyn Bay offering stunning views and amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a relaxing day out with the kids. The beautiful gardens are home to many species of animals including some rare and endangered species. This Zoo is very much a conservation programme and educational talks are given regularly. Highlights include Sealions Rock, The Penguin Playtime show and the Chimp Encounter.

Glasfryn Activity Parc

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.

Rhondda Heritage Park

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

The caravan was exceptional however when we arrived we didn't have hot water or central heating which upon checking the boiler was due to the fact that the water pressure was low. I would have thought that this should have been checked before our arrival as it meant the caravan was extremely cold and I had my 3 year old grandson with me.
Julia
When I booked a newton caravan i was told it was on the sea front which it wasn't it was in ashes which is distance away .the caravan was nice and spacious but there was no instructions for the heating which I thought there would be by the boiler. Definitely go back as I we love Porthcawl but would prefer a caravan near sea front...
Susan
A lot better than I expected for the price to be honest! Fantastic value. Lovely clean caravan and site, well managed and really good facilities. Beach is great for children and plenty of walks and bike cycle routes. Really enjoyed the play facilities for children, restaurant which served quality food and Costa Coffee! Pool was fab and lifeguards extremely vigilant and helpful. Couldn’t fault anything to be honest and I have very high standards and critically review services used by children as my work !!! Well done Treccco Bay !
ANDREW
