Pendine Sands takes it's name from the beautiful 7-mile beach to which it is adjacent. This wonderful location makes the park a good choice for families and nature lovers alike. The park is perfectly placed to allow you to explore all that this area has to offer and yet is so packed with facilities that you may never feel the need to venture out. Kids clubs, swimming pools and sporting events all await at this amazing family park.

Pendine Sands has several kids clubs offering activities and entertainment which is age appropriate for your little one. The kids clubs are great places to make friends and also give mum and dad some time to relax. Treetops tots is for under fours, treetops grove is for 4-10 year olds and teenagers aged 10-15 can enjoy the freestyle club.

Other facilities here include the great indoor pool which has a shallow area for the little ones. The park also offers a sports program with several sporting events weekly. The nature trail is fun for the whole family as well as being educational and there is also an adventure play area. There are several places to eat and drink including the Duck inn which has a beer garden and play area and serves traditional pub grub in a family friendly environment. There is also a fish and chip shop and supermarket as well as the entertainment complex which offers cabaret shows and discos in high season.

Accommodation is in modern caravans. There are several to choose from sleeping from 4 to 8 people.  The Marlais is a good choice for larger families and provides spacious accommodation for up to 8 people with double glazing and central heating. The Annell is a good budget choice providing a comfortable standard of accommodation with one double and one twin bedroom while the Dovey is slightly larger being 12 ft wide and having an additional twin bedroom.

Our Top Tip
"The Marlais caravan is ideal for an out of season holiday as it has double glazing and central heating."

Fun Days Out in Pembrokeshire

Treasure Island Fun Centre

Located in Anglesey in the North of Wales this has to be one of our favourite attractions in the area.  The maze of ramps, slides and tubes will keep the little ones entertained and allow to them to run off their excess energy.  For kids aged 1 to 10 we highly recommend this place.

Penrhyn Castle

Situated in the Gwynedd area of Wales this neo-Norman castle is well worth a visit.  Full of historic and fascinating objects this Castle will appeal to many.  Some of the highlights include the amazing collection of paintings, The Victorian Kitchen, the Servants Rooms, the one ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria and the mock Norman furniture.

Dinosaur Park

This is a popular theme park for kids of all ages where you can follow Dinosaur Trails, play on the adventure playgrounds and on rainy days head for the indoor play den.  You will find this attraction in the Tenby area of Mid Wales and we think it's great value for money.  If you fancy a snack while you are there then the Dinosaur Restaurant and Picnic Area are on hand.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you like gardens then this place is sure to appeal.  With some of the most rare plants in the country and even in the world your visit will help to protect some of these species.  Attractions within the Botanic Garden include a mini farm, discovery centre, adventure zone and bee garden.  Located in the Llanarthne area of Mid Wales this place is easily accessible from many of the holiday parks in the area.

Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is the premier family fun park in Wales and has lots to offer for adults and children alike. Within the park are amazing Treetop Towers, exciting Jungle Boats and a mysterious Crocodile Maze. Fun activities are plentiful including Archery, Stilt Walking and even the very unusual Den Building activity. New for 2010 is Little Forest Play Barn which is the perfect place for the little ones to run around and is also handy if the weather is not great. Don't miss the amazing shows at the outdoor Forest Theatre which include magic shows, and pirate experiences.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Welsh Mountain Zoo is situated above Colwyn Bay offering stunning views and amazing scenery and is the perfect place for a relaxing day out with the kids. The beautiful gardens are home to many species of animals including some rare and endangered species. This Zoo is very much a conservation programme and educational talks are given regularly. Highlights include Sealions Rock, The Penguin Playtime show and the Chimp Encounter.

Glasfryn Activity Parc

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.

Rhondda Heritage Park

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

We had no real issues on this visit with our caravan, we will look at something bigger next time as the second bedroom as a bit small for both my daughters now that they are older.

Brilliant all round.

We were amazed at the fact that in the club house food is advertised everywhere except for the fact that you have to go off site to get it. The time of year we went had a very bad cold snap and the small radiator in the living room struggled to deliver any heat, there was no other form of heating in the living room, although the other rooms were all ok.
Ian
The Pendine Sands park is in a great location. The beach is on your doorstep, and you are within easy reach of several really nice towns and villages. There is everything you could need on the site. Several shops, a Laundrette, take-aways, and the bar is really nice, and serves good food. The games room is great for the kids, our two enjoyed saving up the prize tickets until the last night and choosing a nice gift from the prize store on site. The pool and the bar area are not massive, so in October there was always room. I would imagine in July and August, it can get short of space though.
Ruth
we arrived on the monday to stay to friday had a great three days but unfourtunately we had to go home early thurs am as my father had died suddenly. But we did enjoy our stay and loved the caravan.
Gordon
Great site with clean and tidy caravan situated on a mighty fine beach.
