Ruda holiday park has become very popular in recent years and has many repeat visitors who come here not just for all that the holiday park has to offer but also for the wonderful location on the West Country’s ‘Golden Coast’. The park is situated close to a fantastic award winning beach which is a wonderful place to spend summer days and is ideal for children. This is also a hot spot for anyone who enjoys walking, running and cycling with the stunning coast providing beautiful scenic routes. If you can drag yourself away from the beach or the park itself then Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park is a good place for a fun family day trip as is nearby watermouth castle.

With so much to do within the park though, some people never venture out. This is a particularly family friendly park with emphasis on keeping the children happy. There are many facilities here for children including Tots Stars Club for the under fours and Star Landers Club for children aged 5-10. Older children and teenagers will enjoy making friends at the Freestyle Club for children aged 10-15. When not at one of the clubs children can enjoy the play area, amusements, arcade zone and games room. There is even an indoor soft play area for the little ones.

There are several sporting activities on offer including bike riding, tennis, fishing and horse riding. There is also a beach sports academy and surfing lessons during the summer months. The heart of the holiday parks is the amazing pool complex. The cascades tropical adventure pool has slides, chutes and safe areas for younger children’s well as outdoor lazy river section.

There are several places to eat and drink at Ruda holiday park including a Costa coffee and a family friendly coast bar and kitchen. All of the holiday homes are 12ft wide providing spacious accommodation which is of a high standard and very well equipped for a self catering holiday.

The new Saunton holiday homes are great for off season breaks as they have heating in each of the two bedrooms. The Appledore holiday homes also have heating and are great for large families having three bedrooms consisting of one double and two twin. The luxurious Hartland and Putsborough holiday homes are modern and spacious providing excellent family accommodation which includes a veranda with picnic table for alfresco dining. They also have a CD and DVD player which are a big hit with children.

Lodges are available and are great choice for larger families. They provide more space and have a double and two twin bedrooms as well as family bathroom and additional WC. They also have a veranda which is a great place to enjoy meals on warm summer evenings. All accommodation at Ruda Holiday Park is well maintained and has everything you need for a great self catering holiday.

Ruda holiday parky Park has an enviable position on the golden coast in Croyde bay, North Devon.

This is a stunning part of the country with dramatically contrasting landscapes of wild and rugged country and picturesque sandy bays. The park gives you a wonderful base from which to explore all that North Devon has to offer including some of Britain’s best beaches at Saunton and Croyde. This is a coastline which is popular with water sports enthusiasts from all over the country. It is also a great choice for keen walkers as there are some lovely coastal paths to enjoy.

This is a traditional British fishing area with the ports in Bideford still very much operational. The pretty villages of Appledore and Clovelly are not to be missed with their whitewashed cottages and steep cobbled lanes leading down the quayside. Wildlife enthusiasts should not miss the opportunity to visit Lundy Island. This is a beautiful haven for many types wildlife. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

For a fun family day the life-size dinosaurs at Combe Martin’s Wildlife and Dinosaur Park is an excellent choice. Adrenaline junkies will love the Milky Way Adventure Park which has plenty of rides as well as many other attractions such as birds of prey show. The sheep races, pony rides and duck trials at the nearby Big Sheep provide a more sedate but no less enjoyable alternative and are a good choice for families with young children.

The Play Hut at Ilfracombe is a great indoor and outdoor kids’ soft play centre set within a beautiful oak building and is complete with stylish Café Blue Bar giving parents time to relax while the kids have fun. Ruda is a fantastic holiday park with so much to offer both in the park and in the surrounding area. This is a very popular Holiday Park and we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
